Lyn, from Scotland, and Richard, a local ?Taupoite?, have travelled extensively and know from experience that the generous warm-hearted service, comfortable beds, fresh home baking, safe off street parking and relaxed friendship they provide will be appreciated.

Energy conservation and sustainability were a priority when Richard and Lyn designed and built Richlyn 20 years ago. A low emission furnace fired with wood grown on site supplies all heating and hot water. Walls and roof are insulated with highest rated materials then available. Rain water irrigates the gardens, three fountains and waterfall. A worm-farm, puppy, cat and local birdlife deal with food scraps.

The Central North Island of New Zealand encompasses Rotorua 1 hr away, Napier 1.5 hrs, Tongariro National Park 1 hr, Waitomo Glow worm caves 1.5 hrs and a myriad of natural features within 20 minutes drive of Richlyn. They can all be enjoyed in day trips from Richlyn Park.

It is truly the ideal place to unpack once and relax for a few days.
