Located on Taveuni "The Garden Isle", the beautiful plantation setting of Maravu Plantation Beach Resort & Spa with 21 well-appointed thatched roof cottages offers quick and easy access to fascinating jungle and waterfall hikes. Maravu has Deluxe Bures and Honeymoon Bures with outdoor shower, sundeck and Jacuzzi as well as Duplex Units, all with high ceilings, hard wood and island décor. The top Bures are the Honeymoon Deluxe Suites and the Oceanview Spa Villas with a private yard containing an outdoor shower, a sundeck and a Plunge Spa Pool. All Bures are decorated with elegant colonial-style furniture, fully stocked minibar, spacious bathrooms and hammock on the verandah. Scuba divers can dive the world famous Rainbow Reef and the Great White Wall. Our Oceanview Spa Villas feature wonderful ocean views, a large river rock courtyard complete with a private outdoor shower and a huge Jacuzzi Plunge Pool. | Getting There |
Flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Christchurch, Los Angeles to Nadi/Fiji are available through Air Pacific, Qantas Airways, Air New Zealand, and Pacific Blue. The problem we face on Taveuni Island is, that most flights from Australia and New Zealand are not matching the domestic flights from Nadi to Taveuni Island and return. In the worst case guests have to stay one night over in Nadi both ways. The only flights matching the domestic flights to/from Taveuni are actually from/to Melbourne on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and from Sydney on Sundays. We can offer you our stay/pay packages with one night each at the beginning and end of the stay in Nadi if necessary. I.e. if you book our stay 7/pay 5 special you will stay 5 nights at Maravu with two free nights in Nadi. If you book another package we also can include this two nights in a hotel in Nadi or at Nadi Airport or you choose and book it yourselve. |

| Things To Do |
Taveuni’s sporting and adventure opportunities are never-ending, including some of the world’s best snorkeling and kayaking. Excellent reef snorkeling is only 20 yards off Maravu’s private beach. Nearby islets with surrounding reefs are reached with just a one-mile boat ride or kayak paddle. Other options available directly from Maravu include horseback riding, mountain biking, guided bush walks along the east coast Lavena Trail, and 4-wheel-drive tours to Des Veoux Peak and other inland locations. Maravu also escorts visitors to a local village and holds courses in Fijian cooking, language, and the legends of kava. Several nearby Taveuni companies offer daily trips to Somosomo Strait’s incredible diving locations: the Great White Wall, world-renowned for its 90-foot-high ledge of tree and cauliflower corals; and, the Yellow Tunnel with divaricate tree corals of long, slender, yellow branches. |
