Located in Kensington Gardens near Hyde Park, Thistle Kensington Gardens is one of the rare four star hotels in London that can boast royal neighbours. In fact, the 'house next door' to Thistle Kensington Gardens hotel is Kensington Palace, former out-of-town retreat of William III, birthplace of Queen Victoria and, more recently, home of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Across the road are the Kensington gardens from which we take our name. These gardens were the pet project of Queen Anne. And from many of our recently refurbished bedrooms, including 37 Executive rooms, you?ll enjoy superb views over her magnificent creation. London traffic wardens are notoriously diligent, so you?ll be glad to learn we have on-site car parking available at a modest additional charge.

At Thistle Kensington Gardens you have the option to dine right through the day and on into the night. Modern, relaxed and with lots of natural daylight, our Restaurant has an enticing menu featuring modern British and European dishes, complemented by an extensive wine list.

Getting There Directions to Thistle Kensington Gardens by Road

From M1 follow A5 to Central London. At Marble Arch roundabout take 4th exit to Bayswater Road. Follow signs to Notting Hill Gate (A402), continue past Lancaster Gate underground. Take 4th right into Porchester Terrace. Thistle Kensington Gardens is situated on the left. There are 62 car parking spaces available at an additional charge.

Directions to Thistle Kensington Gardens by Rail

Underground: Take the Central line to Queensway; exit the station and cross over Queensway. Turn left and proceed along Bayswater Road approx 300m (approx 4 mins walk). Thistle Kensington Gardens hotel is situated on the left, facing Hyde Park. Alternatively, take the central line (red line) to Lancaster Gate and turn right along Bayswater Road. Walk approx 450m (approx 10 mins walk). The hotel is situated on the right, facing Hyde Park.

Paddington Railway Station is approximately 0.5 miles from the hotel (15 ? 20 mins walk). The Heathrow Express departs every 15mins (approximately) from 05:10 until after 11pm. Tickets are ?15.50 (?117.50) on-board.

Heathrow Airport is 15 miles away from the Hotel. Connections to the Heathrow Airbus are available at nearby Queensway Underground Station and the Heathrow Express is available at Paddington Underground.

Things To Do The west of London has a host of attractions from the expanse of Hyde Park to the ever popular Kensington area.

Hyde Park is the largest open space in central London, with a perimeter of more than four miles stretching from Marble Arch in the East to Kensington Palace in the West. The park is often used for horse riding and hosts open-air events in the summer.

Kensington Palace is another popular location for tourists. A working royal residence, the palace was the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria.
