The Ecotel at Narooma lies on the spectacular south-eastern coast of Australia, with a short stroll to the beaches, bush, breakwater and boardwalk. It is 345 kms from Sydney, 696kms from Melbourne and 217 kms from Canberra. Friendly by Nature The Ecotel is a motel with a difference. The owners, the Kerans Family, are gradually introducing environmental features to complement the Ecotel’s 6 acres of natural bushland. Excellent value The Ecotel provides great value accommodation combined with comfort and friendly service. There are a range of layouts in the 18 units to suit the single guest to a group of 6. For your comfort The units are light and airy with high ceilings and large landscape windows. Most look south to waterways and a tiny bellbird valley. Kitchenette units have king-size double beds. Six also contain single beds. Five units have a king-size double bed, up to 4 single beds and a kitchen that includes a microwave, electric cooktop, and cookware. All units include linen and towels, a bathroom with shower and toilet, electric jug, toaster, crockery, cutlery, bar fridge, heater and fan and television. North facing verandahs provide a sheltered spot to relax overlooking the lawn and barbecue area under a big jacaranda tree. In the old farmhouse, a restored lounge with open fire is available for guests in the evenings. With compliments Complimentary fresh milk, tea, coffe and sugar are offered on arrival. Also available without charge are: * Iron and ironing board * clothes airers * Extra heaters Smoking The units are non-smoking. However, there are verandahs available with ash trays and butt containers. Food at hand There are many places to eat within 5 minutes of the Ecotel. Local seafood is a specialty in restaurants, clubs, boatshed cafes and a range of takeaways. For self-catering, it is only two minutes drive to purchase groceries, fresh fish and oysters and meat. The barbecue is available for guests who are most welcome to picnic under the big old jacaranda tree or find another part of our acreage to relax. |

| Getting There |
The Ecotel is the first motel at the northern entrance to Narooma. It is on the left after you enter the 60 kph speed restriction, 1km north of the Narooma bridge. We are happy to pick up coach passengers by prior arrangement. |

| Things To Do |
Lay back or get active Advice is available at the Ecotel on the range of things there are to see and do in the Narooma region. There is beautiful blue pool in a landscaped garden and lawn setting with outdoor dining settings and shady nooks. Games and recreation equipment are available from the Ecotel at no charge. There are opportunities for surfing and swimming in the the town's heated Olympic-size indoor pool plus fishing, boating, golf, horseriding, tennis, bowls and croquet. The many facilities of 4 licensed clubs are within 5 minutes drive and they welcome visitors. Eco touring Bushwalkers will find that the Ecotel is only minutes from ocean-side national parks and reserves. There are opportunities for scuba diving and snorkeling. Boat tours are available up the Wagonga Estuary to explore rainforest. Other boats head out 6 nautical miles to Montague Island Nature Reserve with its seasonal activities centered around sea birds, whales, dolphins, penguins and snorkelling with seals. Hands-on heritage At the Umbarra Cultural Centre visitors are welcome to participate in ochre painting, boomerang and spear throwing. Tours are also conducted to Aboriginal sacred sites. Guests can also explore the National Trust village of Central Tilba and the nearby Foxglove Spire heritage gardens, the winery and cheese factory. At Mogo, north from the Ecotel, guests can fossick for gold or visit a large private zoo involved in species preservation. The Narooma District takes pride in displaying the work of local artists and traditional craftspeople and presenting live music. |
