Within 30 minutes beyond the bustling coastal strip lies the Gold Coast Hinterland where the city gives way to farmland, vineyards, quaint villages, sprawling National Parks and rainforest reserves. Try Tamborine Mountain Rainforest Walk or Tree Tops Walk at O'Reillys, Springbrook National Park walk under the waterfall or swim in the pools.

Each year thousands of Humpback whales pass the Gold Coast between June and the end of October. Whale watching is one of the most exhilarating and humbling experiences you can ever witness and is a must if you are on the Gold Coast during their season. Several of the whale watching tours depart from the marina precincts around Marina Mirage.
