| Getting There |
Airport transfers can be arranged at a cost. Driving directions are as follows: From North – Along State Highway 2 (SH2) (Opotiki): Follow (SH2) signs toGisborne, once past the township of Ormond, take the Back Ormond Road turn-off. Continue for 8.86km along Back Ormond Road (merges into Ormond Road). Turn right at the second roundabout onto Fitzherbet Street. Continue past two sets of traffic lights and then left onto Childers Road. Continue along and then straight through at the roundabout. Road veers to the right and onto Reads Quay. Continue to the end of Reads Quay. You have reached Portside Hotel. From South – Along State Highway 2 (SH2) (Napier/Wairoa): Follow (SH2) signs to Gisborne via City Centre (Gladstone Road). Once onto Gladstone Road turn right at the third roundabout (Roebuck Road). Turn left at the first stop sign onto Childers Road. Continue through all roundabouts. Road veers to the right and onto Reads Quay. Continue to the end of Reads Quay. You have reached Portside Hotel. From Airport: Exit Airport along entry/exit drive. Once outside airport grounds road veers to the left (Chalmers Road). Turn right into the 4th road (Childers Road). Continue along Childers Road for approximately 3.62 km and through 5 roundabouts. Past the last roundabout, the road veers to the right and onto Reads Quay. Continue to the end of Reads Quay. You have reached Portside Hotel. |
