Tony & Margaret Seavill (Owner Hosts ) EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF LAKESIDE LUXURY Kawaha Point Lodge situated on the shores of Lake Rotorua is a magnificent restored building surrounded by local stone walls and beautiful gardens of the 1930 era. The Lodge is situated on the northern edge of lake Rotorua 5 minutes from the city centre and 15 minutes from Rotorua airport. Adding to the charm of the Lodge it has its own jetty where guests can be picked up by a local fishing guides and fish for the famous rainbow and brown trout. The catch can then be brought back to the Lodge and prepared. The Lodge has various activities on site which include croquet, petanque, swimming pool, sauna, and picnics. The lodge offers 8 luxuriously appointed double or twin rooms named after the surrounding lakes of the area. All the bedrooms have ensuites with either lake or garden views. Kawaha Point Lodge offers beautiful settings for experiencing superb cuisine prepared by the resident chefs using only the finest NZ produce and wines. | Getting There |
Directions from AUCKLAND to KAWAHA POINT LODGE Take Highway 1 south out of Auckland, it is a 4 lane highway, about ½ of an hour driving south you will drive down a long hill and the highway splits to the left. Sign reads Thames, Tauranga & Highway 2 take this road. Follow Highway 2 for 34k. Highway 2 goes left to Thames & Highway 27 starts this takes you to Matamata 77k still on Highway 27 another 20k to Tirau, about 1k south of Tirau (a very small town) the road splits to Highway 5 (Rotorua) to the left and Highway 1 right (Taupo). As you approach Rotorua on the right hand side you will see Rainbow Springs and next to it Skyline Rides. The second road on the left after Skyline Rides is Kawaha Point Road this is the road to the lodge, follow it around pass some shops until you see our sign, drive down to the lake edge and we are on the right hand side. We are 2.5 hours to 3 hours driving from the Auckland Airport and 3 hours from Auckland central city. Hope you can follow, safe driving and please drive on the left and a warm welcome awaits you at Kawaha Point Lodge. DIRECTION FROM THE SOUTH TAUPO Take Highway 5 from Taupo to Rotorua, about 50 to 60 minutes driving time. On entering the boundary of Rotorua City turn left onto Highway 5 heading towards Hamilton and Auckland (Old Taupo Road) Go straight through all roundabouts and lights until you are traveling on a double lane road with car yards either side. When traffic merges prepare to turn right into Kawaha Point Road. (sign on post “Lodge’ with ‘Kawaha Point’ underneath it). Also is a large sign on the corner “WOOL BARN” If you see SKYLINE RIDES you have gone to far. Drive down Kawaha Point Road turn left at shops then right at 1st road after shops, this is still Kawaha Point Road follow it until you see our sign on the right. Drive down to the lake and on your right is the lodge where a warm welcome awaits you. DIRECTION FROM ROTORUA AIRPORT To get to the lodge you have to drive through the city and get on to Fairy Springs Road or Highway 5 Turn right as you leave the airport and drive straight through the first 2 roundabouts you come to and straight through the 1st set of lights. As you approach the next set of lights you will see a sign HAMILTON now follow this sign until you get onto OLD TAUPO ROAD which is a double lane road each way. This leads onto FAIRY SPRINGS ROAD which is double lane with a medium strip down the centre. When this finishes and goes back to a single lane each way Kawaha Point Road is the next road on the right. Follow the road down to some shops turn left then another 100 meters turn right on the sign post you will see the word LODGE. You will then see our sign KAWAHA POINT LODGE (Street box number 171 ) on your right follow this drive down to the lake and we are on you right, where a warm welcome awaits you. |

Rotorua is the center of Maori Culture and Thermal Activity, there is a number of very good attractions for the above. then there is fishing fly and boat fishing for trout, Helicopter and Sea Plane flights for sight seeing. Hot swims in natural pools along with Mud Baths and Massages. |
