Hotel Challis

21-23 Challis Avenue, Potts Point - Map
"Great hotel in a great location - newly opened"
The location of the Challis couldn't be better. With some great cafes and restaurants within 100m of the front door and Kings Cross a 5min walk away and Oxford St about 20mins walk, we enjoyed exploring the area. It was also about 10mins walk to the finger wharf at Wooloomaloo and a lovely stroll through the botanic gardens to the Opera House and Circular Quay. The place had only been open for a month when we stayed there so everything was fresh and new. We had a balcony room which had enough space for the 2 of us, a comfy king bed and a great balcony with views towards the harbour and city. The staff were friendly and welcoming and genuinely interested in our experience of the hotel. Great value for money in one of the best locations close to everything you need - shopping, eating and entertainment. Avoid the homogeneous high rise chain hotels and stay somewhere with character.

"Beautiful hotel - amazing welcome."
The hotel and staff cannot be faulted -the assistance of the staff was outstanding and the efficiency of the front desk was 10/10. The only thing that I believe did not live up to the standard of this beautiful traditional establishment was the quality of the buffet breakfast. The selection of food and the ambience was more like that of one of the 3.5 or 4 star establishments like the Ibis. Obviously the catering must be outsourced as everything was better than first class. I would stay here again, but have breakfast somewhere else.
