Novotel Sydney Rockford Darling Harbour - Sydney Hotels

Novotel Sydney Rockford Darling Harbour

17 Little Pier Street, Sydney - Map
"Good location, clean quiet room & reasonable price"
Demolition of a big stadium in front of hotel was a bit surprise but overall rating is excellent because of it's convenient location just a few steps to Darling Harbour. Eating space was a bit too small and I didn't use.

Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central - Haymarket Hotels

Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central

431-439 Pitt Street, Haymarket - Map
"Close to Central and amenities"
Generally, the Metro is reasonable, clean, well appointed, good location for UTS, Central, and surrounding area. Good prices if you manage to get the specials, otherwise standard for a 3-4 star hotel. Nothing bad to report, just a mention on the room size and outlook. The room (standard queen) was small ~22msq and felt small. Outlook from room was to a brick wall, but generally I tend to close the curtains when in the room, unless there is a view (rare). If you wanted to use a laptop on a desk, good luck the room was too small. On a positive, the breakfast buffet was reasonable and the food warm/hot. All in all, a good hotel that I would recommend, if you can get a nightly rate below $120-$130.

    Accommodation In Sydney

In Sydney, you’re never far from a gorgeous beach, relaxed vibes and somebody joking with friends on a sunny patio. From the perfect surf breaks and ocean views in Manly to the flea markets and cottages of Lilyfield, you’ll spend your upcoming holiday embracing the sweet Sydneysider way of life.

Built around the biggest natural harbour in the world, it’s no surprise that the capital of New South Wales has become an international cultural centre, drawing travellers to its waterfront and down quirky side streets. Use this handy Sydney travel guide to plan your trip, from top accommodation in Sydney to the best neighbourhood for scoring savoury street cuisine.

    Plan Your Trip

After drooling over the city lights and gorgeous skyline during the final descent, you’ll touch down about 17km south of the Central Business District. It’s a quick drive or an easy commute on the train or a bus, and you can always come in for a late-night landing in one of the hotels near Sydney International Airport looking out over Botany Bay.

If your idea of fun is going from sky-high to High Street, then you need to know where to stay in Sydney’s CBD. Relax, we’ve got you covered—just pack your walking shoes and pair of sunnies and leave room for adventure. OK, maybe you can’t bring the Blue Mountains home in your rucksack, but you get the idea. Whatever your itinerary holds, you’ll find the best Sydney hotel deals right here!

    Eat Your Way Through Sydney

People from all over the globe want to get in on Sydney’s easygoing charm and awesome weather. And by golly, once you start your international food tour through the city streets, you might want to call Sydney home sweet home, too.

If you’ve got to start your day with a tasty brunch—and who doesn’t?—treat yourself to a late sleep in your Sydney hotel and roll out of bed in time to chow down in Surry Hills, just south of the CBD. Low-key cafes and well-caffeinated coffee shops are this neighbourhood’s bread and butter—oh, yeah, and amazing artisan pastries.

Wanna trade your morning coffee and crepes for tea and pork buns? Wander over to Chatswood, north of the CBD and Port Jackson. Home to Sydney’s Chinese expat community, Chatswood is polished, urban and a great place to graze on street cuisine.

    Take a Hike

We’re not telling you to go away…unless you want to. And with the stunning Blue Mountains just 75km northwest of downtown Sydney, you’ll want to go on a big adventure. Rest up in one of our hotels in Sydney, because you’ve got a mountain to summit in the morning. Explore the area on foot or pedal your way along winding trails. Be on the lookout for the Three Sisters rock formation and a few waterfalls. Go ahead and chase them—we don’t judge.

    Bring the Family

Bring the kids to Sydney, where uni town vibes and eclectic couture reign supreme? Are we joking? Nope, not a bit. You’ll find plenty of family-friendly places to stay in Sydney, along with heaps of things to do with your clan, so don’t let the young ones sit out on this holiday!

Take the whole crew to Darling Harbour, which looks a little like a floating Las Vegas at night (remember that for later). By day, you can tour the decks of a seaworthy vessel at the Australian National Maritime Museum. Admit it; playing pirates is one of your favourite activities, too.

If you’re travelling with a particularly energetic bunch, get sporty at the Sydney Olympic Park, where you can spend the day swimming like Susie O’Neill or swinging from the trapeze. After a full day, they’ll fall right to sleep in one of the nearby Sydney hotels. Bonus: The quiet currents of the Parramatta River make a lovely lullaby.

Be the Life of the Party

Remember what we said about Darling Harbour? Well, after dark, this entertainment hub is lit up and hopping. Take a spin on the Star of the Show, the aptly named observation wheel right on the edge of the water. Take a good look at the city lights and plot your next stop.

The night is young, and so is Sydney (at heart at least). To cap your night with craft cocktails and yummy treats, wander over to posh Potts Point, east of the CBD. Spend the night there and you’ll wake up to luxury boutiques and top-shelf coffee. For more laid-back libations, settle in at Bondi Beach. Go from sunbathing on the golden sand to meeting new friends in an open-air bar and toasting another awesome day.
