Staff really nice and helpful, room was small, air conditioner didn't work, got moved to another room the following day. Shower room was just a wet room, no shower curtain so be wary.

The place was noisy, something that seemed like a noisy washing machine was running well past midnight and in the early hours there was what sounded like a delivery truck and everything about it was loud.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times when I’ve travelled to Sydney. It’s normally no frills cheap and cheerful, but this time around it was simply just cheap and nasty. If you don’t like dragging suitcases up flights of stairways then don’t stay here. I had a room on the top floor and it’s not a pleasant task going up and down several times to sort problems out with reception. After finally getting everything into the room, I noticed how much dirtier the room was compared to previous stays. The shower soap holder and drain were both covered in soap scum. The towel hangers were surrounded by mould and there was visible dirt orotund the doors. The paint on the walls in the main area were blistered and peeling. It’s clear that the rooms aren’t thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis at all. Finally, my tv did not work. I thought it was the remote, so back to reception to get new batteries, but it was the tv on the blink. To their credit they did shift me into another room the next day, but then made up my original room and were obviously going to rent it to another unsuspecting customer without fixing it. For the money, the Stamford Airport hotel just around from the airport kills this place for value. Rooms 3 times the size, luxurious and much, much cleaner for only $40 a night more.

5 minutes after checked in I got a knock on the door demanding payment of a further 30 dollars for the night. I refused to pay as I prepaid the advertised sum 2 days in advance via Wotif. I went out for the night and the next day on departure some of my belongings were missing. Be careful of these scammers and thief’s. The same level of light pollutes the room as if you are sleeping under the lights of the Sydney Cricket Ground. Very noisy place. Outside air has the stench of fried oil from the nearby McDonalds and KFC. Marginally one step up from a rent by the hour hotel.

Front door unlocked at all times. Our room was just inside front door and lock on our door was falling out of the door frame. Nowhere to boil a jug for hot water over night. All locked in entry foyer. Trying to contact them was almost impossible as they never returned calls and rarely answered the phone. Bathroom had lots of open joins in the walls and ceiling that looked like places to hide cameras.

Another great stay

A comfy bed, shower and a toilet. Aircon and a TV that worked. We walked down the road to The Southern Cross pub for dinner and walked back for the evening. If you’re a big coffee or tea drinker you can ask for more milk pods or like I do, bring my own UHT milk. Due to my history of many Dr and hospital appointments we are seasoned IBIS visitors For the price we are happy to revisit
