Poor value for money

Location: Great location for business. Supermarket and cafes close by.
Interesting history and lovely ambience to lobby - I was excited to stay here for the first time on a business trip. Unfortunately the new rooms do not reflect this old world charm and submit to the trend of looking like something out of K-mart or IKEA! Such a pity that the owners did not stay true to the buildings heritage! Bland uninteresting and echoing rooms with no bench space for bathroom toiletries. Hair dryer heat setting didn't work. Our company has this hotel listed as one of their preferred hotels, its a convenient walk to head office. Unfortunately for my mid week booking the 'allocation' of corporate rate had been exhausted. I then reluctantly booked what I thought was an outrageously expensive room (even for Sydney) via the wotif website which included breakfast. I found out, on check out, that a room service breakfast is NOT included. So on top of a overpriced priced disappointing room I had to pay for a continental breakfast! Disappointing all around, I will avoid staying here in future.

Pros: The location.
Cons: Update your rooms before you charge like wounded bulls.
Location: Location is great and it's obviously what they trade on.
I was at the Grace for 3 nights. My first room had no soundproofing when the man next door coughed up his lungs all night it sounded like he was actually in my room and resulted in me getting no sleep. I asked to be moved because I was in Sydney for work and couldn't go the next night without sleep. I can only describe the second room as a dungeon. No overhead lighting at all and lamp light so poor that to read and complete work that I needed to do I had to go to the bathroom. The carpet was threadbare and even had holes in some spots. Of course everything is relative to cost and had it been around AUD200 I would understood but at AUD352 per night I found it unacceptable. Never again.

Very close to all the major Galleries and Museums

Pros: Old School - no surprises and comfortable. Great food in the ground floor eateries - the Italian superb
Cons: A little more colour in the rooms would not go astray.
Location: Close to shopping and Galleries
. Perfectly comfortable and trouble free. Great view from the tenth floor with a sight of the harbour.

Great location

Stayed in Sydney over the weekend for a business trip and found the location great. Next to all the sites, close the retail hub, pubs and restaurants and close to the train station with public transport easy to use. Only concern we had was some slight rattling in the aircon.
