Perth

Perth has a penchant for big things. The capital of Western Australia has got a well-earned rep for its big beaches and even bigger skies.

Big ideas brim in Perth’s cityscape, dreamt up by big “Perthonalities”. In the city centre, Perth’s museums, galleries, restaurants and bars go that one bit further, serving up homegrown fare in all seasons. Follow the flow of the Swan River to pretty parklands and the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean, where you can take your pick from an array of spacious surfing and swimming beaches.

The best place to see quokkas is on Rottnest Island, which is an easy ferry ride off the coast of Perth. Where is the Perth train station?

The main train station in Perth is located smack in the middle of the CBD, making it pretty convenient. It's an easy walk from the northern end of Kings Park and from Elizabeth Quay. There's no need to walk when you've got the Transperth metro bus system, though. Oh, and to make it even more convenient, there's a station in East Perth, too.
