The rooms have a weird layout. You cannot walk around the bed. One side is hard up against a wall.

A wonderful place to stay, beautifully designed and well located. We chose a Terrace Room, which was larger than it appeared in the photos and the mix of old and new was lovely. I also viewed the Gus Standard, which was again larger than it appeared in photos and would be a great choice. Comfortable bed with nice linen and three different settings to the shower was great. The included mini bar (mini bottle of wine, 2 beers, chocolate and chips) felt very generous. We also popped into Gimlet for the included G&T and left several cocktails later - great service and drinks! The included continental breakfast had great variety and was good quality fare. We received excellent service from the team at reception who were up for a chat and gave off a friendly 'home away from home' vibe. The precinct itself is excellent. Beautiful design, reasonably priced and definitely recommended. Our new go to in Freo for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay at the garde, beautiful building and furnishings, friendly staff and a lovely area, very close and walking distances to a lot. Would definitely stay again. We loved the little touches of the water & complimentary mini bar in the room and the welcome drinks at Gimlet.

This hotel delivered a stay unlike many others by going beyond expectations in complimentary offers. Included was a welcome drink, all items in mini fridge and an amazing breakfast!! Automated floor to ceiling blinds added a fresh take on finishes which can be found throughout the room, the bath design finish was impressive... And finally I mention one of the best features I wish every hotel offered which was our floor had a water refill station offering both still and sparkling!! ❤️👏😊

All the staff were very polite and helpful with any queries. The cottages are comfortable and well maintained. The only criticism I have is the bedside shelf is not of sufficient size to put a CPAP machine on so I had to improvise. Other than this all was good with the stay, continental breakfast was a little lacking for choice( we had stayed 4 nights in a Perth hotel and the continental breakfast had more choice) but ok.
