Foothills states that check in is between 2pm-5pm. We arrived at 4pm to be told one of our 4 rooms was not ready. We then asked which of our rooms had the king bed and which had the single beds. We were told they were all kingbeds. They reported a miscommunication between Wotif and themselves and agreed change the bedding. We were told this would cause more delays and we couldn’t get in to our rooms til 5.30pm. At 6.30pm they were still making up our rooms. We all sat in the one made up room as reception was closed at 4.30pm despite’s supposedly being open til 5pm. When reception closes as does access to the beautiful lounge and the bar. We finally got in to our other rooms at 6.45pm to find 2 bees in one of the rooms. While we were removing the bees from our room the door slammed shut behind us locking our keys inside. We called the ‘caretaker’ to open the room and reported the bees in our room. We were told ‘that’s part of being in the bush’. Despite us being in the bush and a fire prone area there was also no information on bushfire safety or evacuation. When we asked about this they said that there were currently no bush fires near us so it was irrelevant. The rooms at the Foothills were actually lovely and the beds were comfy. The lack of access to amenities, inconsistent staffing, poor customer service and issues with our room booking really ruined what otherwise would have been a lovely stay.

Love the setting - the bed size was amazing Only let down was the base of the shower was sharp and i caught my foot on it, otherwise amazing
