Price was excellent but room servicing left a lot to be desired. First two days out of six a pass but forget the rest of the days, we had to ask for things like towels etc…even toilet paper. Bed not made and had to use our coffee cups three days in a row without clean ones. Floor was not vacuumed once etc etc. Will not stay there again.

Shower was almost unusable, literally trickling/dribbling out with no pressure even when the basin had good pressure and we spent ages adjusting it because it constantly changed temperature. On the last days we had to only use the hot tap and that was just warm. I did complain about that and the fact that we weren't getting replacement toilet rolls so we were down to just the one on the reel that we were worried would run out. I think our bed was made but the sheet wasn't replaced because there was a little blood mark on the sheet where she had a scratch on her leg the next day. I still had some stubble in the basin the next day. Used teacups were not replaced and there were no dish cleaning facilities for us to us. Curtain had no stop on it so came right off when pulled over. I am not a snob about these things, but all these things added up to make it feel ick. Skirting boards were really dusty (this would not have passed my rental inspection that lists this as an item) and there was crap on the shower grout, table bedside had stain on it

I have stayed at The Victoria Hotel on a number of occasions, over the years, and the change in management, since my last stay, was obvious with less of a focus on personalised service. The location is excellent, although with lots of construction in the surrounding area, it can make for a noisy wake up. If you’re a non smoker, you might be a little upset with the number of people smoking outside the entrance, within the no smoking zone. As an asthmatic, I found this a little distressing, especially since this has never been the case before. I’m hopeful that this improves with time, as I have loved staying here on my previous visits to Melbourne, as it is so central.

The breakfast is just wonderful. Lots of choices for hot food and the ambience is very relaxing. I like finishing with fresh fruit and their apples were crunchy.

We enjoyed the breaksfast offered and found the selection to be quite reasonable. It is a bonus to have a happy hour bar and large relaxation area for guests.The location of the hotel is excellent for trams,trains, and choice of venues for meals. The only suggestion for improvement is the bath towels are getting worn and thin.
