We booked the Holiday Inn Auckland Airport as it was listed with "Shuttle Available", but the shuttle is just the yellow hotel bus from the airport, which costs NZ$8 per person each way, plus NZ$0.50 tax, which added an additional $34 to our stay. The room was reasonably clean and modern, and breakfast was fine, but the hotel itself is quite dated, and the carpet in the corridors and common areas is stained and looks grubby. Also, the hotel is on two levels, but there is no elevator, which means if you have luggage you have to lug it up and down the stairs. Would not stay again.

Room next to stairs is very loud with echo from stairs. Insulation? Staff was good, lovely bed and pillows. Mrals in buffet, breakfast and dinner, were not impressive. Ive had better at Fairfiels Inn and other low end hotels.

Were very satisfied with our room and facility overall. would return again. Food and buffet breakfast very good and huge selection. Limited restaurant selections nearby. However the Post Office Restaurant, within walking distance was excellent and would highly recommend.

Upon arrival staff were courteous and friendly at all times, very helpful. Room was clean and tidy, lovely big bed and very comfortable. Restaurant was clean and buffet foid was very good as well as the lovely display of food for breakfast. I would say having bananas would be very nice and maybe some yogurts too.

All staff were lovely and helpful. Room was a good size. Didn't like having the shower over the bath, that is so outdated and dangerous for older people like me. Ineffective sound proofing between the room and the stairs next-door meant interrupted sleep. Cases being dragged down steps at 3am not welcome. Food on offer nowhere near a 4 star standard. Ordered salt and pepper sqid and got some deep-fried crumbed sqid rings. No sauces supplied but remedied quickly when pointed out. Really good hot chips. Menu looked like it was put together by a short order cook not a chef. My local small town cafe does a better and more varied menu.
