The reception being on the 3rd floor is hopeless, took half an hour and two phone calls to even meet someone who could help. The cold shower in the morning wasn't great. Generous with tea and coffee but stingy with the milk. Wording on emails wasnt very clear and didn't make sense in some cases.

Disappointing interactions with staff - left waiting in foyer to check in and it wasn’t until a Sofitel employee noticed we and other guests had been waiting for a while were we taken up to level 3 to check in. Also due to lack of information from staff we weren’t informed the marathon was running on the roads directly surrounding the hotel resulting in our car being towed during the night - the hotel did email us the day before check in listing parking options including street parking so that’s what we did. We were informed by Sofitel staff that they had advised all of their guests about the road closures so it was disappointing Marsden hadn’t done the same. We also couldn’t get the TV to work despite logging in to our own streaming services as it said it was offline. Otherwise room itself was fine.
