The location is great, right in behind Campbell Cove and close to the harbour. It was very easy to get around in such a nice area. The hotel is dated but we were happy with the room, which was clean and the bed was comfortable. We would stay again.

Our stay at the Sydney Holiday Hotel was far from perfect. We arrived at the hotel, no service to help baggage to room, there was a luggage trolley for us to use. The room was great except for shower over bath and as an 87 year old, It impossible for me to get in or out. When we returned later in the day the room was freezing, we tried to adjust the tempurture but nothing would work. A Technician was called and he adjusted the air con and reset it. We returned to the room after dinner the room was still freezing. No one was available to fix the air con. We froze that night. As we left in the morning we checked with the service desk making sure they knew the problem and that it would be fixed. We returned in the afternoon, no one had fixed the air con. A Technician arrived tried for about 30 minuted but could not fix it, fetch an electrician who tried to fix it without success. They arranged a change of room but was only offered queen bed and pull out single. I would not ask my support worker to sleep on a pull out single. The manager went back to see what else was available. We waited for abour 1 hour with no results. Decided to stay in room if air conditioner could be completely turned off and extra blankets provided. They also offered free breakfast, which we accepted. The staff were polite and helpful. Not the nest weekend

We checked into the room and left the hotel after two hours. The room we are given (205) wreaked of mold as it was visible on the ceiling and around the A/C vent. The room we were moved to after complaining (420) also smelled moldy (albeit not as bad as 205) and the furniture was covered in dust. Both my wife and I developed headaches and were nauseous.

This hotel meets basic standards but not much else. The best feature is location, particularly for the cruise crowd. The cruise terminal is a 5 minute walk. Plenty of shops and restaurants are nearby as well as the waterfront. The staff is friendly and the rooms are pretty spacious. The beds and linen are clean and comfortable. The hotel is old and very tired. It badly needs an update. The carpets and furniture are worn and soiled. There isn't a lamp in the room; all lighting is overhead. There is no full service restaurant or bar but plenty are nearby. The bathroom, bathroom fixtures and tub are right out of 1970. This feels more Holiday Inn than a 4 star hotel. At least Holiday Inn provides a free breakfast. I expected a much nicer place for the price; you are paying for location, not a nice hotel.

The room is very dated. We left our bags and we returned at 6pm, our bags weren't taken to our room, and I know why steps to rooms off the lift are very difficult to navigate. Staff were friendly and location was fantastic. Over priced though low water pressure, shower over bath, very small bathroom and small room.

Room and bed were comfortable with a great view of the bridge. Breakfast was very good as well. While we did not use the rooftop pool we did enjoy the view of the bridge and opera house in the evening as well as the downtown skyline.
