Central location and person was really helpful and nice on check-in. Unfortunately that was where our good experience stopped. Got the key to our room, went upstairs and it was as though all beds had just had someone rolling around in them. They were covered in brown smudge stains and hairs! On top of our cupboards were multiple plates with food still on them from the last occupants and there was a strong stale cigarette smell stuck in the room that no open window could flush. Clearly not one person had bothered to walk into that room since the last people had left. When we went to reception to get clean sheets for one of the beds, the worker’s English was not the best and didn’t understand what we were trying to ask for. Lastly, all toilets were covered in hairs, piss and blood. We have stayed in many backpackers in the Sydney area and have to say this was our worst experience so far. Will not be back.

Short walk from CBD.

The price was right for me, also included breakfast. I chose this place due to having a 24hr checkin (due to my very late arrival), it was a short walk from the train station. Although I arrived late at night I did find it hard to locate the entrance/reception area. (This could’ve been due to tiredness)

Central location

Cons: People in reception need to be a bit more receptive. Take hoodies off so you can see who your talkjng to. It would be good to have locals.
Good price for location. Currently doing up the amenities. Easy walking distance to centre of Sydney. Convdnient when you are looking for a base.

They couldn't find our booking

Cons: 1. Locate our booking instead of telling us we have no booking. 2. Don't casually flick a cockroach onto your guests and act like that is ok 3. Prov
The staff were inept and more concerned with loading youtube clips on the screen than finding our booking - which they could not locate. A cockroach ran across the table and when it stopped in front of me the clerk said "oh yes I will spray again later" and proceeded to flick it onto me. I found this repugnant. They couldn't find pillows or blankets but they also couldn't find our booking. We left. I expect a refund. It was a filthy disgusting fire trap with staff that were unhelpful and unqualified to run a facility like this - there was a queue out the door. I expect a full refund.

Basically brilliant

Clean sheets and friendly service. Not exactly the place for a romantic get away but if your looking for a clean bed and bathroom (it is shared but obviously cleaned very regularly) and somewhere to store your stuff RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF SYDNEY, then this is the place for you. (The huge communal kitchen, with fridges for guest use, was a god send for our budget, and the free breakfast was the cherry on top) Will be staying there regularly now that we've found this little gem :)

A last resort if you're on a tight budget

Cons: Considering the rates you're charging, not a whole lot.
As the old saying goes: "you get what you pay for." So I guess I can't really complain too much about this place considering how cheap the booking was. But I do have a few comments. The interior of the building was like walking through a home renovation site: bare floorboards (walking through one area upstairs almost felt like you could fall through the floor at any moment) power tools and rubbish bins lying around ...not the most hospitable atmosphere I've come across to be sure. The rooms and bathrooms themselves were relatively clean at least. The staff were unfortunately only borderline competent and were virtually inept of any real people skills. To make matters worse, our bedding was not yet ready at the time we checked in. And when we returned to reception several hours later to pick them up, they were still not ready... Disappointing. It was just as well my friend spoke German, because the late-night receptionist's English was very basic and could barely understand our (second) request for bedding.
