Very good value and central location. I loved my room. It was renovated but still retained an antique charm. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive I enjoyed the full strength cocktails at bargain prices during happy hour. The meals are good too if you don't want to go out. I would definitely stay there again.

Friendly, helpful staff. We were in Sydney from interstate, to see a show at the Lyric Theatre. The Dunkirk was perfect for proximity to the Star Casino and to light rail, restaurants, and other tourist attractions. Room was clean. Didn’t expect to be sharing bathrooms with other rooms. Toilet was clogged for a full day in in one of the bathrooms. Noisy street and building. Wifi didn’t work and neither did TV. When asking staff if they could help, they tried one thing it didn’t work and then never followed up. Wouldn’t stay here again I was excepting more of a hotel then a hostel feel.
