"Comfortable apartments - convenient location."
The location of the units is great. Close to shops, restaurants and the beach. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean, but the shower needed some scrubbing - it was quite mouldy. I would definitely stay again.

"Everything I needed but....,,"
Enjoyed my stay, as the apartment provided, everything I needed. As others had mentioned, on their reviews, the cleanliness needs improvement. I would be happy to come along and give a few pointers to the cleaner, if required.

"Truly helpful staff - and after the sale!"
It was a good week after we'd left Wollongong that I contacted the Normandie on the off chance that I'd left my phone charger there. (Really thought that I hadn't, but it'd been a while, and you know - you try to cover all possibilities.) A typical place might answer immediately that nothing had been handed in, and you'd wonder whether they'd even looked in a drawer. Not so at the Normandie: not only did they check the room, but they identified a charger that would normally have been tagged, and sent a photo of it just in case it was mine - by both email *and* MMS! I felt really stupid about putting them to so much trouble, but equally I knew that every effort had been made. I promised them a good web review! The Normandie itself is a place of character - more interesting than the boxy grey Novotel further down the road. It was originally a private guest hotel, apparently, many decades ago. Just a couple of interactions I noticed with guests told me that this place was like family. One person was telling the staff as he left about when he'd next be returning - clearly a regular. Another spoke to us, with helpful assurance as we were using the rear entrance for the first time. A really nice atmosphere. The hotel directory also showed a rare attention to detail and indications that the staff were accommodating in more senses than one. This is not a 'swish' place, but style exists in more than concrete and glass.
