The door to the cabin was not weather proof and allowed a large amount of water to come inside when raining. We had to ask for extra towels to jam at the bottom and side to keep both the rain and wind out. I understand that the owners can’t control the weather, but they need to improve the condition of the cabin. On a positive, the view was really nice when the weather cleared.

Room and bathroom were clean enough, but walls were marked and dirty in places. Towel rail was broken, but they fixed it. It was a large room, but be careful, it was definitely different to the ones in their adds. The restaurant attached to the property was good - large serves and very tasty.

We had a very disappointing experience at Lakeside Illawarra. The room was visibly dirty and contained multiple cockroaches, which made us extremely uncomfortable and concerned about hygiene. Due to this, we did not feel safe bringing our clothes or belongings fully into the room for fear of contamination. I contacted staff immediately to report the issue but did not receive any response or follow-up, which added to the frustration. Basic cleanliness and pest control are expected standards for accommodation, and unfortunately this stay did not meet those expectations. I hope management addresses these issues urgently to improve guest safety and comfort.
