My family and I experienced the most enjoyable holiday at the Alamanda Resort. The location was perfect. The apartment was very comfortable and the facilities were fantastic.
We will be returning again for our next holiday .
The staff were friendly and informative . Palm Cove has this village vibe to it and you feel very welcome and safe.
We well and truly relaxed and had a lot of fun as a family.
We always love staying at the Shangri La. Lovely rooms, great views, close to everything. Our car does fit in the underground car park but the staff were only too happy to help us with a fantastic secure parking spot right by the lobby.
This hotel is located on the Esplanade in Cairns and is an easy walk to the CBD. The staff were helpful and the room on the sixth floor overlooking the beach was comfortable and clean. The dining room provided good value.
This was our first visit to Palm Cove and we didn't know where to stay. We couldn't have chosen anywhere better than Paradise on the Beach. There were plenty of dining options within an easy walk and we could swim at the patrolled beach right across the road. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was very comfortable with nothing missing. The pool and spa were right outside our room on the first floor and the guest's laundry on the ground floor was clean and easy to use. Pool towels for use at the beach also were available at no charge which isn't always the case at other accommodation. We only stayed 4 days but would stay longer next time.
Very convenient location for great cafes, shops, markets and an easy walk to the Esplanade. This is a very noisy area though at night (nightclubs nearby) and even during the day if you want to take time out from the heat to relax in your room. The room is basic but clean and functional, however the bathroom is disappointing (very much in need of renovating and updating with a bath/shower with shower curtain and old toilet).
"Really enjoyed the pool. Close to beach and shops."
Overall a great place to stay. We really enjoyed our three nights here. Would have liked a mini-bar in the room as it was tough to find supplies, late at night. Also a change of towels mid stay would have been nice. You could collect fresh pool towels from reception, but that was a bit inconvenient. Free parking was fantastic. Easy to walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Easy parking right beneath our building. They let us check in a couple of hours early. Would definitely stay here again, next time though will stock up supplies at the Coles up on the highway before arrival.

Iconic landmarks and attractions
In summer, swimming nets are in place at Cairns’ Northern Beaches so you can enjoy the blue skies and refreshing water without being bothered by stingers. Want something a little more exciting than a swim? Take some kite boarding lessons at Yorkeys Knob. Spend some time in Cairns and spend some time checking out the activities there: the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon, Cairns Tropical Zoo or the Kuranda Scenic Railway, which takes you from Cairns to Kuranda, a rainforest village with markets and art galleries, close to the steep and rugged Barron Falls waterfall.
While you’re here, make sure you scuba, snorkel or take a boat ride around the Great Barrier Reef, and hike the forests trails of the Daintree. These two attractions are Queensland icons you simply can’t miss.
From Cairns Airport it’s only an 11-minute drive to Machans Beach, the closest of the Northern Beaches. You can hire a car in Cairns – especially useful if you intend to explore the vast Tropical North. Buses from Cairns run every half an hour to favourite beaches like Trinity Beach and Yorkeys Knob, and you can also get a taxi straight from the airport to your Northern Beaches hotel.
