Great location. Rooms are quite dated and aircon was poor and stuffy. Staff were nice and house keeping was good. Was advertised as having a balcony, the balcany was so narrow there was bearly standing room.Overall ok we found it pretty expensive for the quality of the room.

"Nice resort, bar manager terrible"
I was impressed with the resort as soon as I arrived. Staff at reception was great and we were offered a cold towel on arrival as it was a really hot day. Our room was clean and comfortable, the shower head sprayed a ring of water towards the walls instead of in the shower and there wasn't a plug for the bath. My son, sister and myself had dinner at the resort the second night. The food was great, the only let down was the bar manager who stormed in behind the bar while I was placing my order, my son was sitting at the bar reading the menu and he snatched the menu from him and sat it at the end of the bar. I had explained to the bar attendant that I would order my drinks and dinner together as I was paying by card and their ATM was out of order, and I would take the drinks as I needed them. The manager must have overheard what drinks I ordered and got them all at once. He then left the bar. He came off as rude and arrogant and ruined our dining experience. Other than that one person at the resort it was an enjoyable holiday.

"Gorgeous location"
A lovely stay....nothing to fault, staff were lovely and fun. My small gripes are the coffee is no where near Melbourne standard and and the poached eggs came hard boiled too often. Staying 10 days they did have an 80s sound track of running water and pan pipes playing in the open air puts you to sleep!

Pocket Guide: Cairns and Northern Beaches

Take a break in Tropical North Queensland and lounge around on some of Australia's most magnificent beaches. When you stay in our Cairns Beach hotels, you'll be right near all the surf, sun and sand action.

    Beaches to visit

Unspoilt Palm Cove is regularly voted as one of the best beaches in Australia and when you spend some time here, you'll soon see why. This romantic luxury spot is popular with honeymooners and is perfected located halfway between Cairns and Port Douglas.

Trinity Beach is another highly revered, must-visit beach, with plenty of adventure activities on offer. On the other hand, if you'd prefer a day of pampering, you can easily treat yourself to a day at the spa or wander around the luxury shopping outlets here.

Holloways Beach is a great spot for a barbeque lunch and isn't far from the Cairns Airport, either. Nearby you'll find Yorkeys Nob but make sure you only swim at the northern end of the beach, which is patrolled by lifeguards during the six warmer months of the year. At the southern end, keen fishermen can drop a line and try their luck in the estuary.

If you'd rather escape the tourist hot spots and hang out with the locals, Clifton Beach and Kewarra Beach are perfect for you. Both beaches have safe swimming spots, and you can grab some takeaway or fire up one of the BBQs and unwind without the crowds.

For fantastic surf beaches, hit up Ella Bay and Etty Bay, just outside of Innisfail.

    Shopping and dining

While you're enjoying your beach holiday, you'll feast on sumptuous seafood, fresh tropical fruit and flowing cocktails. The best part: the incredible waterfront views from just about every restaurant, bar and cafe!

For a bit of retail therapy, there are plenty of boutique stores along the beach promenades and you can also visit Cairns Central or the Cairns Night Markets.

    Getting here and around

To get here, take advantage of these cheap flights to Cairns and then get around on buses once you've arrived. Or if you're keen to do a bit of exploring, you can hire a car and head to Port Douglas, just an hour from Cairns. Here, you can stand at the point where two World Heritage listed sites meet – the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Forest.

So wot are you waiting for? Book your Cairns Beach accommodation with us now and make sure you pack plenty of sunscreen!
