Did not like that something as simple as bottles of water were not in the room or given at check-in! Water and hydration is essential and given complimentary or for purchase in the room at all nice hotels. Additionally, we were planing to go for drinks at the TOP OF THE MARK. It was supposed to be one of the highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, it was closed for a private event! It would’ve been nice to be notified as this would have prompted me to re-schedule my trip for another weekend. I was disappointed to say the least!

I have stayed at the Mark Hopkins before and had loved it. I was disappointed this time. Our room was small and not very comfortable. The front desk staff were not helpful or courteous. We had breakfast at the hotel which was nice.

Loved this classic, old, historic, well located icon. The amenities were minimal, example, no coffee in room, soaps and shampoo on the wall only. No bar soap. Very little luxury other than walls itself. We had dinner in the restaurant and unknowingly (cost) ordered 6 bottles of water for the table which cost $60! And the waiter didn’t even empty each bottle! Beware of incredible SF service fees and taxes, of course not the hotel’s fault!
