Loved this classic, old, historic, well located icon. The amenities were minimal, example, no coffee in room, soaps and shampoo on the wall only. No bar soap. Very little luxury other than walls itself. We had dinner in the restaurant and unknowingly (cost) ordered 6 bottles of water for the table which cost $60! And the waiter didn’t even empty each bottle! Beware of incredible SF service fees and taxes, of course not the hotel’s fault!

It's easy to get to the financial district, marina, and other neighborhoods though be aware of the steep hills and relative seclusion of the hotel when booking.

The hotel is dated and in need of a renovation. While it looks amazing on the outside, the rooms are dirty and worn. The bathrooms are small and outdated. The food at the restaurants is overpriced and sub par.

Our stay was great, very friendly staff, nice room & lobby. We were disappointed when we went to the Top of the Mark bar for a drink that they asked us to pay a cover charge. Staying at the hotel 2 nights, dining, parking... do not think it was appropriate to ask us to pay a cover so that we could go in and purchase cocktails. We went nextdoor to The Fairmont and patronized their lovely lobby bar, enjoyed the cocktails there and the welcome

The room was perfect with an amazing view of the city and the Bay. Wonderful staff and they were always friendly and helpful. The Top of the Mark was a great place to have a drink after the show we saw at The Masonic. We will definitely stay again.

Mini fridge not operational. Our food from Ossos not be able to refrigerate. Frank at front desk not helpful, would not give his supervisor name. First time we have been treated this poorly at Mark Hopkins . Wow, have stayed here time and time again and probably will be the last time.
