Wonderful experience. I was in town for work and enjoyed my time at The Marker. The staff are especially fantastic — friendly, accommodating and genuinely kind. The room was clean, comfortable and stylish. I will absolutely return and have already encouraged my colleagues to go.

The hotel itself is lovely and beautiful. Upon check in though the valley wouldn’t put his phone down and when I asked if I was in the right spot and if I could leave the car he gave no verbal response. When checking in I explained this to the front desk and they didn’t even acknowledge. At no point did anyone offer help with luggage or give any direction upon checking in. Also- it should be noted this nice hotel is situated in the very unsafe area of the tenderloin. I suppose that’s why the rate was so reasonable.

The hotel staff are very friendly, except the man who works at the bar is a bit unfriendly, but it wasn't a big deal to me.

There are some beautiful fireplaces to sit around and enjoy. The onsite restaurant was also quite good. They give you a couple of complementary glasses of house wine which was nice.

Good and walkable area

Nice hotel- it needs some maintenance to keep it looking nice. 2 blocks down and you’re in the not so safe area of SF. But conveniente on the other part- very walkable.

Wonderful stay at The Marker! Definitely will recommend! Overall I felt safe in Union Square, but nearby is a larger homeless population, like any big city. Staff was so nice. I’d say that the staff should know more about the city to offer suggestions for travelers.

Service was spot on and the staff is marvelous. Loved our upgrade and amenities. Unfortunately, the room was a bit noisier than we remembered. Also, we had planned to go to a play at the Golden Gate Theatre which requires a short walk down the street, however, we were too uneasy walking through the homeless encampments in the Tenderloin to get there. Neither one of us is intimidated easily. It's no fault of the hotel, but makes an Uber or Waymo necessary when it shouldn't be.

The hot water in the bathroom didn't work properly. No curtains in the bedroom despite it being mentioned in the room description. The staff said they will try and arrange cappuccino for me but did even bother to get back. The Housekeeping staff were friendly. Room not worth the price
