Didn’t honor my reservation , was told Expedia misrepresented the hotel because the room i ordered was not available ( they gave my reservation) to someone else , took three hours to receive a proper accommodation i was so depressed, and in duress that i decided to move My bags from my original room to another room smh the elevator didn’t work i waited ten for fifteen minutes each time , and i just had foot surgery, first day i felt that miserable in A very long time.

Everyone here is amazing! We always enjoy our stay and the GM Rich goes above and beyond to make everyone’s stay a special one. In absolute awe of this property and all the staff from the Valet, to the front desk to housekeeping, kitchen staff, room service, the bartenders (hi Gabe), I think you still call them bell boys but Rocco and Mark among many others I am not mentioning are just fantastic! The chocolate chip cookies Orlando the baker makes, are 100/10!

There was a problem with the elevator and going up and down the room was a nightmare. We didn’t mind taking the stairs but the hotel closed them and refused to open them even though we and other customers asked for it. The bathroom in the room was incredibly small and unpractical and the water in the sink could not go down. We didn’t feel we were in a luxury hotel when we were in the room. Considering what we paid we felt the price was too high for what we got and we did not have a smooth experience in the hotel.

If you are just going for the historic charm this is a good choice. The rooms are not quiet. Our AC sounded like a cruise ship was passing by every time it clicked on. Let's not mention the incredibly loud guests all around you the second the weekend hits. The pool is iconic and offers nothing more. The poolside service was attentive but forgot about closing out our tab when it was requested and there was quite a a wait there. There was also an unruly guest escorted out by security screaming profanities in front of children. If you want a lounger, you'll want to avoid the weekend. I'd you do get a lounger they are all shaded which was nice. There was only one working elevator for the entire hotel. Your options during your stay are to climb stairs every time you want to get to or from your room or wait about 10mins solid each time for the elevator. It wasn't busy while we stayed there so I can only imagine how it would be when it's crowded If you want Hollywood history and don't mind these things, the lobby is very nice and there is a lot of history here. If you want a relaxing getaway from the bustle of your LA trip, this is a hard pass.

Pros : Nice and convenient location. Has a very nice pool which is great to relax during summer time. Cons : We stayed at the caban rooms, The room size was very nice but lighting was very bad. Very dark rooms even during the day. And we changed our room feom one siide of the property to the other and it was still dark the valet is too expensive, 70 bucks a day. You can park across the street for 30 The crowd used to be younger and more hip in the past, it feels like the hotel didnt keep up with the times, its not really a very in hotel The mail room is a nightmare to deal with. If you mail something to the hotel its a very complicated process to retrieve your package.

Lovely hotel, comfortable bed. Walls very thin - can hear people in the hallway and rooms nextdoor. Great experience for one night but wouldnt be wanting to stay for an extended time as sleeping can be difficult if you are a light sleeper.
