Economical, though substantially more expensive than last year. Reasonable walk from underground, though the escalator there wasn't working (hardly the hotel's fault!). surrounding area a bit scary, with strong police presence.

The stay was clean and pleasant, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's conveniently located near the subway and bus stops, and it's also close to LaGuardia Airport. However, one thing that bothered me was that someone took our leftover pizza from the room. When I called the front desk to inquire, they didn’t know anything about it and didn’t take any action.

Wonderful Stay!

My overall stay was wonderful. The concierge staff was outstanding. They were super helpful, kind, and compassionate, answering every query with a positive outlook and understanding, as well as humour! The room was extremely clean, comfortable, and inviting. The continental breakfast had a great selection and good food, constantly being replenished. The only criticism was that the air conditioning was quite loud, so I turned it off at night, which was still pleasant enough to sleep, and turned it back on when out during the day. It was nice and cool in the room when I returned in the evening. The hotel was very close to restaurants, bus stops, and the subway station so getting around was very convenient. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Wingate by Wyndham in Long Island City! Thank you so much!!

Don't expect super luxurious. But location was 2 blocks from the subway, food trucks nearby open late. They had a few paying spots you could pay for but there was someone about first come first served. Didn't use it so not sure. Everywhere was very clean, front desk and buffet staff were friendly and helpful. Not overly so because it's nyc. Bathroom and bedroom were very roomy. Only things that i didn't like were pretty minor: no HBO and no handheld shower head. But would definitely stay here again.

The biggest advantage of this hotel is its easy access to public transportation—both the bus and subway stations are just around the corner and can take you quickly anywhere in the city. The front desk is wonderful: very friendly, welcoming, and eager to help with anything you need. In fact, all the staff give off a “we care” vibe, making the stay feel warm and supported. The complimentary breakfast runs until 10:00 AM and is impressive for a free offering. It includes hot meals, veggie options, sausage, eggs, toast, yogurt, and fresh fruit salad, all of good quality. There’s also free water, coffee, and hot water available in the lobby, which is a nice touch. The hotel itself is new, very clean, and well maintained. While the area might not be the absolute safest, I didn’t feel unsafe even when walking from the subway station to the hotel at midnight.

Clean and tourist friendly

I have very little bad things to say about this hotel. The room was very nice and clean, the bed was super cozy and comfy, the breakfast was good but nothing crazy, great variety of juices in the morning, and the people there are very friendly and welcoming. It's right on the outskirts of the city so u don't have to worry about the loud noise the city attracts an the chaos. There is a subway that's only about a 5 min walk that brings u right into the city, tho I don't recommend using the subway when it's very hot outside because it's even hotter in the subway. Overall this is a great hotel for a short visit to the city!
