Please people Do Not Book your stay there. I am a native New Yorker who move to Florida. I went for a quick holiday and book one night stay there. My heart goes out to people that travel thousands of miles to visit NY and they stay there. You will be waiting more then 1 hr to check in and you will also wait more then 20 minutes to take the elevator. They will hold your bags for a fee of $25 per luggage. Parking will cost you like $80 per night and is tiny and chaotic. If you want to be stress and wreck your vacation book your stay there. The rooms are also old looking and the bathrooms don’t look so clean.

My stay at this hotel was far from satisfactory. To start we had an issue with a restroom in one of the rooms we had, and could not get in touch with anyone at the front desk because the phones in either of our rooms did not work at all. Minor inconvenience, but still an issue. Then the second night of our stay the fire/health safety coordinator comes over the intercom in a panic saying there’s a fire and everyone needs to get out of the building, only to discover it wasn’t a fire, and pipe had burst and was flooding the lobby area, and was not clear if we needed to exit the building. I was in my room, and everyone on our floor was trying confused and panicked and did not know what to do, and nobody with this hotel made it any clearer what needed to happen. The staff themselves did not seem to know what they were doing. My cousin and my aunt were coming back to the hotel at that time, and were left standing outside in freezing temperatures for nearly 30-45 minutes. The last announcement said anyone in their rooms should not come down to the lobby until a new announcement was made, at which point no other announcement was made, and we were just left to own own devices to find out it was okay to come back down and operate normally. Have stayed here a number of years ago and had a good experience and thought it would be the same, unfortunately it’s not. This hotel has gone down hill and will definitely not be staying here again. If it was possible to give 0 stars it would.

Only 1 elevator working for the entire higher-level floors, all weekend. During my stay, they called an emergency and asked all guests to evacuate. Mind you the weather was 14 degrees outside and snowing. Intercom kept cutting off so no one understand what they were saying. They said fire department was on the way which made everyone believe there was a fire. People were taking the stairs from level 30+ to 1…. Just to find out that there was no fire but rather a bursted pipe, and was instructed to go back to their rooms. This caused chaos in the elevators all night. Couldn’t make it back to my room for another 2 hours because who’s climbing 30+ flights of stairs after barely making it down? The lobby looks luxurious, but rooms are old, outdated, and compact. There’s only a community microwave for every floor and even then it’s dirty. Workers at the front desk are rude and not willing to help. You would believe they want to treat their guests with respect but they just want to get through the line asap without accommodating for any of the troubles and inconveniences that they caused. Wasted my time staying here.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a Marriott property. I specifically booked and paid extra for a high-floor room to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. When I arrived, my room was not ready, which I understood, so I left and returned later. When I finally received my room, the key cards did not work. I was originally assigned a high-floor room with a beautiful view, but staff stated they could not access any rooms on that floor and moved me to a much smaller room that I did not want. No effort was made to properly accommodate me or acknowledge that I paid extra for the high floor, which led me to contact Expedia for help. During my stay on the 27th floor, the elevators repeatedly did not work. Many times, we had to walk down several floors just to catch one, and there were instances where none of the elevators worked in the lobby, causing long waits. There was also a water leak in the lobby, during which an announcement was made stating the entire building needed to evacuate due to a fire. This caused panic in a 50+ floor building, with guests crowding stairwells in 11-degree weather. It later became clear there was no fire. Poor communication created unnecessary fear and chaos. When I raised concerns, staff claimed it was the first time hearing about the elevator issues, despite multiple guest complaints. Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing, and I would never stay at the Sheraton Times Square again.

Peter at the front Fesk was amazing and very accommodating!! Huge asset to your team unlike the Girl at the desk who I went to, to ask a question about this additional service fee and she told me " sorry I am not here". We were hit with a service fee that we were not told about and at the hotel we were told was in the " Fine print" of your confirmation..and it was not optional... I think it is unfair to be forced to buy food or told we had ticks to attractions that we didnt ask for. AND by the way there was a blizzard and we didnt go to any attractions, museum...ect. We did not have any one come to clean the room at all the whole time we were there ... Hotel seems old and needs to be updated ... felt like a motel instead of a Sheraton property... the only good thing about this Hotel is the location and Peter at the front desk!!

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding my stay booked through Expedia at the Sheraton New York City Times Square from January 23–27. During my stay, the property experienced a serious emergency incident. The intercom system malfunctioned, issuing broken and unintelligible announcements regarding a fire department situation. This caused panic among guests, with people running through hallways due to a lack of clear instructions. I was on the 23rd floor; elevators were shut down, forcing guests to evacuate via stairwells. The lobby was flooded with water and in disarray. Elevators remained unreliable for hours. This reflects a significant failure in safety communication and emergency preparedness. Despite this disruption, the hotel provided no apology, no explanation, no compensation, and no flexibility, including denying a brief late checkout request even after the incident. The room itself failed to meet basic standards: no refrigerator, windows leaking cold air, requiring excessive heating, and an outdated, mouldy shower with inconsistent hot water. Additionally, at approximately 3:00 AM, hotel management instructed me to book a second room through Expedia due to a system “audit,” stating they could not match Expedia’s rate. After booking as directed, I was then required to return to the back of the check-in line, despite already being assisted. This treatment was unreasonable and observed by other guests. HORRIBLE elevator situation, always a wait time. during our stay there was a MASSIVE FLOOD in the lobby ruining me and my partners shoes, where we had to walk down 18 flights of stairs and stay in the lobby for hours with no info on what’s going on, and we received no compensation at all despite the fire alarm going off and us waiting for hours with no info. the next day there was a false alarm fire alarm AGAIN and we had to again walk down the stairs and wait for an hour for the elevators to work with staff not telling us what is going on. After the flood they did nothing for us despite all our shoes and boots being ruined by the black dirty water which then grew into mold and i had to throw them out . i wouldn’t recommend coming here

The app didn’t work. I was told that this hotel doesn’t use the app yet. I couldn’t check-in (via the app), couldn’t order room service or any other type of service. Outside of the lobby, the hotel looked distressed. Broken fixtures and elevator call plates. Wires sticking out of the walls where electrical fixtures once were. A pipe burst which flooded the first few floors. The elevators were down for nearly an hour or more…I was on the 20th floor. Constant fire warden updates, using the building wide communications system just to tell people to sty out of the way and stay in their rooms. Not so much as a “we’re sorry” credit or “Here’s some coupons for a free breakfast. Sorry about ruining your night.” Outside of the obvious vintage state of this hotel…the staff was great. Except for that one lady who was yelling at a guest because he kept demanding to speak with a manager. He didn’t want to accept her answer that the manager was not available to 11PM. She could have totally handled it better.
