The location was great with walking distance to about everything or at least the train station and subway to get everywhere. Good restaurants on site. Hotel staff not overly friendly, but felt safe in hotel as you had to show card every time to get on elevator. I understood my reservation would be on 19th floor or higher and was on the noisy corner of 8th, but great view. Also, Expedia advises car services and there was nothing to offer from hotel. I was hoping to enjoy the history of the building, but was not offered it. However, cleaning staff was amazing and friendly. They made our stay along with the location.

This was once a very grand beautiful hotel but its glory days are long past. The rooms are a good size, the beds are very comfortable and the housekeeping staff excellent. The bathroom was adequate but old. The hotel itself is tired and in need of some modernisation without loosing the influence of its past.
