Cheap to stay but not great quality
Pros: Proximity to financial district and other locations is really good. For our purposes, the location worked out really well. It was cheap to find a hotel that close to the main attractions in the city. The room was clean. The check-in process was really smooth and quick.
Cons: the room wasn’t great, it was really small. The bathroom was so small that there was barely place for even one person to stand. The condition on the entry door and the bathtub were as if it had been scrubbed really hard with some metal stuff and it left scars of such scrubbing. The reception desk guy was extremely impatient to even hear what our question was before repeating the same answer thrice.
The description mentioned “parking available”, which gave the impression that the hotel has its own parking spot. The reality was that there was valet parking for a parking garage across the street for $75. If you self park in the parking garage, the rate was lower. The parking garage rate was $85 per night in self park, which when stamped by the hotel discounted the rate to $55/night. This was misrepresentation that there were extra charges for parking, which defeated the idea of low rates of the hotel room.
Further, we made booking for 2 days, but due to winter storm we checked out on the evening of second day itself. The reception guy said they can’t check us out early, which means our legal liability for that room was until the next day even after our prior check-out, which was surprising to me.
