Regret... that is what I felt throughout my stay at Ibis budget Coffs Harbour. Stayed here for one night for a stop over. The hotel looks run down. Every area of the hotel, including the reception, stairwell and the room had a different, horrible smell. The hotel and room was definitely not 3 stars- more at the level of a bad backpackers. The room is far from a standard that you'd expect in 2026- more like a gaol. The towel racks were horrid. The bathroom very small with holes in the walls. No vanity- a small shelf where belongings fall onto the ground nearly missing the toilet. I could not stop water coming out of the tap. The whole room (4 beds) reliant on the one big too bright light, so everyone has to go to bed at the same time. The air con had a big blue light on it and it didn't turn off- was there the whole night. Could hear other guests come and go throughout the night. And the worst of it the breakfast (described as a 'great breakfast' on a sign out the front) was absolutely appalling. When I mentioned juice to my child, another guest politely informed me that the OJ appeared off- that it was fizzing. The milk for the coffee was separating. The pancake machine did not work. We didn't eat any of it- that we actually may have paid for it- I can't even begin to comprehend that. The location is very far from the beach (8 minute drive) so my dream of getting up and running the coast of coffs was ruined. Spent so much money avoiding being there. TV did not work.
