Location for our purposes was good. Dislikes? Hotel was near empty but we were given a room at the far end. Plumbing in shower noisy to turn on & off. Toilet needs dual flush to save water. Basin is small with two taps instead of a mixer.Overall, bathroom needs major upgrade.

They were under renovation and had workers on the premises, and the lift was out of order, not what I expected or needed after an extremely hard week. The workers left around 5.20pm. They should have a advertised that they were undergoing renovations on the website as I would have opted to stay else where. Staff did carry my suitcase up the stairs and moved me to another room with a spa bath which seemed to be no different from a room I booked in the past.

Huge room to other hotels I've stayed at and massive bed. Really comfortable and been spruced up a bit. Friendly staff. Didn't get to use many facilities as it was just an overnight stay for work. Would recommend a stay here. Very reasonably priced too.

A smile and welcome goes a long way!

Fine for what we paid (better than expected) but our checkin with an unsmiling, unfriendly receptionist who acted like an official rather than making you feel welcome was a let down HOWEVER the cheerful receptionist in the morning at checkout and great buffet breakfast made up for the checkin on arrival.

The Armitage is quite a nice hotel, close to town yet private. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom is a bit strange. Getting off the toilet is a balancing act. (toilet to close to the bath tub.) Wifi was very poor !
