Definitely 3 star. Room small and beds on rollers so when you leant against the wall, the bed moved. Pillow sham was dirty and duvet cover had a slash in it. Otherwise room good. Bathroom clean .

Check in was late and we had to wait over an hour but we were compensated appropriately. Reception were lovely and it wasn't their fault at all. Close to the Lakefront and Eat Streat - everything in town is walking distance. You get access to the pools and gym at Novotel. The pools are heated and very nice. Buffet breakfast was good - hot foods and cereals. Coffee machine was terrible though, selected "mocha" and it came out like a black coffee with a bit of froth.

When we arrived we booked a room with a city views instead we walked into our room to see straight out our window to the hotel next door and see people lying in their beds or on their beds. There was no sheer curtain, so we asked for a different view. I was happy to pay the extra not to look at legs. Staff were nice and accommodating an d gave us a view of the lake. I really appreciated it. We didn’t realise that the hotel did not provide amenities as the picture they advertise had them in the bathroom. The hotel doesn’t provide ammenities only one bottle in their shower. While the hotel prides itself on recycling, low wastage. And I think it is great that the hotel is trying to achieve the low carbon print. I do believe the hotel needs to communicate this upon check in. We were never advised that the heating is geothermal, the water is geothermal, no bin bags. Our room smelt of sulphur throughout the night and it wasn’t until reading the QR code did we realise that the heating was causing the smell. Windows which open would have been nice. The hotel provides a free laundry, fantastic thank you. Yes some of the hotel is outdated but it works and the laundry is older but it works and it is free. Breakfast was good, hot breakfast and coffee was good. TV streaming was hard and the QR code didn’t always work, it took us a good 30mins to finally connect but only to our Netflix. Some areas need streamlining for a better stay. Relying on QR codes, is not always helpful.
