Hotel Carmel is my go to when I visit Santa Monica beach. The location is great; great services by super friendly staffs. Although the rooms are not big and fancy, but it's clean as expected. I would return.

The location was excellent and very close to the pier, which we really appreciated. However, there was a noticeable odour in the hallway leading to the room, possibly from the carpet, and a mild odour inside the room as well. It would also be helpful to have a kettle and complimentary bottled water in the room. Additionally, installing a couple of hooks behind the bathroom door would be a practical improvement. Thanks.
