The Biltmore is undeniably iconic, and walking through its historic lobby brought back memories of when I first hoped to stay there. For our family trip, we were excited to finally book a couple of nights, and the grandeur of the common areas truly lived up to its reputation. The view from our room was beautiful, and the staff we interacted with were kind and welcoming.
However, the actual room experience fell short of expectations. The accommodations felt noticeably dated, and several amenities I expected at this price point were missing. The bathroom, in particular, was disappointing—the toilet resembled the style commonly found in public restrooms, and the lack of ventilation made showering uncomfortable due to excessive humidity. We found ourselves keeping the bathroom door open just to maintain comfort.
While the hotel remains an impressive venue for events or a visit to its historic spaces, I was ultimately glad our stay was only two nights. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not quite match the price or the anticipation I had for this iconic property.
