We stayed in room #23. The window only opens about 6 inches and there is no air conditioning. All we had was a small fan. It had to be about 100 degrees in the room. The temperature was cooler outside the hotel. We did not sleep either night. We are from Miami and can handle the heat but this was really bad. Possibly a safety issue for somebody with health issues. The hotel needs to disclose this on their website that they do not have air conditioning.

Convenient location and surprisingly quiet! Room clean, but at the very top of the building with no lift. The blurb does point out "no lift". But it was horribly stuffy and hot, even with tbe fan going throughout the night. The man who checked us in was helpful and friendly.
This is in contrast to the staff serving breakfast the following morning. There were several problems with the breakfast: 1 Absolutely no concession for gluten free guests. Nothing. 2 No fresh or tinned fruit to eat INSTEAD of glutinous bread. 3 No choice of toast types, just white. When I queried and asked for brown bread the reply was, "we only have white."
So we both ended up with yoghurt and coffee for breakfast, and left the four slices of white toast on the table.
Moral of the story: if you have dietary needs don't thiink you’ll be eating breakfast there.

Unfortunately my mother died and had to interrupt my stay from 4 to 1 day and the manager didn’t approve my refund even after offering price of death, besides that, the room was old, stained carpets, breakfast was a toast or cereal, not really breakfast, the only plus was the location, and the staff , other than that do yourself a favor an pay more for a better place where you are not jus one number but a person that might have a last minute death in the family to have some consideration for.
Value for money. Overall condition of the hotel was ok but there is room for improvement w.r.t cleanliness and furniture. Reception staff was quick and nice. 10 mins walk to Victoria bus/train station.

Everyone at the Dover was wonderful and quite helpful. The rooms are very old and if you are picky about quality of beds/ carpets/ tile- this is not the place for you. However the cleaning of the staff is wonderful, towels/ sheets all very nice. We did not wake up in time for breakfast. The hotel is in a great location which was why we picked it and compared to the prices of other hotels it is reasonable. We were happy! There is a safe you can use and they let you store luggage before and after your reservation time! All in all I would recommend with the caveat of the old and worn interior.
Staff amazing, location incredible, clean, small and functional. Loved, we will be back! Maria from the kitchen and the receptionists were the best, they did everything to make us comfortable and happy!
I stayed at a single room. Although the room was tiny, it was perfect for my 2 night stay. The bathrooms seemed to be recently renovated and very clean. The bedroom was also clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was only cerial and toast, but it was something and saved me the time and extra money to look for one elsewhere. Overall, nice hotel for the money and the location!
The staff at this hotel were amazing. They were friendly and so helpful, BUT this hotel is dated and the twin room I was in was very small, as in I just had a few feet on one side of the bed. The location was good and I felt safe and was walkable to the sites I wanted to visti.
This was a great budget option!! Breakfast was nice, especially inside london don't see free breakfast very often. Yes this is a budget place but it was clean and we enjoyed our stay, would stay again. Be aware no toiletries included
The breakfast is extremely basic and low quality. Do start your day with the coffee at this place. The housekeeping is very poorly done. They don't even empty the trash bins in the room. They didn't even clean the toilet once during our 5-day stay. They shot down the heating so if you feel cold you have to ask the receptionist to turn it on and then you can control it in your room. The rooms are very small and if you have luggage then you will be in trouble. If you can pay slightly more better to go for other options in the neighborhood. My only motivation to book this room was the location and I was at the hotel only for sleeping.
