Friendly staff but low water pressure

Good stay with my family. Clean room with friendly and helpful staff. But, terrible water pressure in our room, so taking a shower was difficult. Delicious and varied breakfast options for vegetarians and meat eaters.

Communications were terrible, no heat in room, television would not work. Asked for a blanket, told they didn't have any, technician said could not fix heat said person come tomorrow, no one came. Television kept freezing technician said the AV guy will look at tomorrow. Asked for Manager, told no manager. Finally went to front desk to air issues and the desk person ran for manager. He came out introduced himself, I informed him his staff have been saying they had no manager? Turns out they do have blankets, the rooms have no heat just AC (so what was tech trying to fix?), provided a space heater. Manager offered new room the next day but as we were leaving it was not worth hassle of moving for one day, room likely same but different issues.

The positives, the concierge was for the the few exceptions was superb. The negatives, we arrived early and asked to check in early. We were told our room had not been cleaned. Okay. We checked back every two hours, same answer. When the check in time arrived, we were given the same answer. We had to wait until an hour after check in before we were able to go to our room. We had a room for three people that was only stocked for two (towels, coffee cups, everything). For a four star hotel, we expected sheets (linens) but instead had the blanket/sheet combo sewed into one piece. This place only caters to the cruise ships and others they "partner" with. Everyone else is an afterthought, if not an annoyance . I would recommend any hotel over this chain.

The hotel is very small with a minimal lobby. Not really a 4 stars hotel, maybe 3 stars. The location is excellent, only a few steps aways from the tube (metro), which made it an excellent choice for us. The room was old and nothing to brag about, but overall it was not a bad experience.

The staff are what makes this hotel returnable. They were so polite and helpful. The hotel itself is dated, very crowded (which obviously is good for them). The location is good for transportation into central London. My room was dated and cold in vibe. With only soap offered as an amenity there was little “comfort” offered. Would I stay again, highly unlikely as there is a lots of choice available even in that area. I stayed for 5 nights and really would’ve liked a home away from home. But thank you to all the staff, you are what makes that hotel.

Convenient location and modern hotel. Upgraded to a suite on the top floor which was very spacious.

Excellent property! Minutes from Gloucester Road tube station and The London Big Bus picks up there as well. Stayed September 3-7. Spacious rooms, ours had 2 queen beds, chair and work table, easy chair, large bathroom with a hood shower. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Staff very friendly and efficient, only too happy to assist and ensure your stay is pleasurable. We will stay here again!
