No soap in my room. I went down to reception as soon as I noticed, around 6pm and was told they would contact housekeeping. I went out for the evening and got back and still no soap. I told reception again on Saturday morning, they phoned housekeeping in from of me to request this to be sorted. I went out for the day returning at 6pm, and still no soap. I walked past a long line at reception so I used the phone to call them, asked to speak to the manager and when I got through his mailbox was full !! I spoke to reception again to request soap. I stayed Friday night and Saturday night, three requests for soap and it never materialised! Surely every hotel provides a way to wash your hands!!!

Great hotel in a great location

My husband and I travelled with my sister to stay for 1 night while we went to see Coldplay for their last night at Wembley. We weren't sure which tube to catch so we asked the concierge for directions. He was so helpful and friendly, he even took us to the tube station and gave us some helpful tips on where to change the tube. Sorry, I didn't get his name but it was on Saturday 12th around 6.30pm. We got there and back no problem thanks to his directions. Thank you so much!

Recent stay at the Tara

Room was clean but basic. Booked the club room which was an upgrade, still basic. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Went for a drink in happy hour, be careful as you pay for a tip on the full price not the offer price. Don’t like paying for a tip for just a beer served at the bar. No soap, gel or shampoo in the room however when I asked, it was sent via room service within 10 mins so all good. Great location, excellent choice for breakfast.

Not so good, the noise of the trains made sleeping difficult and the noise of the room cleaners in the morning was unnecessary. We were also overcharged by the bar staff in the two for one happy hour as we only had one drink each and were charged for two drinks instead of one-staff were confused and could not work out what the correct process was.

We have stayed here before as its location to the tube line is excellent. Our room was spacious and clean but a little dated , unfortunately the railway line was close to our room so we heard a lot of trains all through the night. Breakfast was offered at 10 which we would have had if we had more time.

Was unfortunately disappointed with our room, and the response to our questions when speaking with staff. The front desk staff was kind, and understood (if not related to) how bad things were, but nothing substantial was done. They all seemed to act as if this was normal for their hotel, and only had bandaids (so to speak), not solutions. The room was falling apart, and not suitable for two people. Some issues that were all present when we arrived: - mold on the ceiling in the bathroom (which housekeeping said “happens when you shower” and wouldn’t clean) - stained and scratched up walls - Holes that are barely patched up - Smells of wet stains - only one chair, and so stained we couldn’t sit on it - asked for another chair, but it was also incredibly stained - Needed to put towels on top of the chairs to sit on them - Closet’s hangers were mostly broken and missing pieces - Fridge door broken - the inside of door was missing a piece so nothing could be kept in the door - Fridge had huge clump of crusted ice in it that dripped and created a puddle, making our food wet - the maintenance guy who came to look at the fridge just put a towel in it, no fixing could be done - Two of the lights do not work - we asked for extra sheets and one we were given was soiled - When housekeeping came in, they took away the one clean sheet we had It just felt like we really struggling to be there, without any other option and would never stay there again.
