We came back to this hotel after a fabulous time in the summer but were disappointed by the staff at reception and in the bar who were churlish and unfriendly ( although not all of them) . The need to provide ID. On checking in is ridiculous and when queried was met with a ridiculous explanation of the need to prove who I was The rooms are very comfortable however and we love the location of the hotel

The room was great with views of Seething Lane and Tower Bridge. The check-in process was a bit disappointing though as the lady at reception was unable to locate my booking through Hotels.com. It transpired that she was typing my first name incorrectly into the system? However it was all sorted out in the end. Overall, it was a great stay in the city of London.

I’ve used the Apex City of London for many years off and on, for me it’s still a great hotel. Well located, large enough to offer good facilities but small enough to still have a personal touch. This stay was up to the mark; good reception/check in, very clean room which was well maintained and a very enjoyable breakfast in The Lampery. With the exception of a rude and uninterested barman, the staff were all very good, helpful and attentive. I got a very deal on hotels.com and would certainly book again if I was able to get the same deal.

Room was very clean, welcoming staff, well located with fantastic views, a great nights sleep with a comfortable bed and good facilities. Only negatives, the room wasn’t ready despite after check in time, the reception did apologise and we had a drink but was a little inconvenient, and only had one dressing gown for two of us.
