the hotel is an older property that has been renovated. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There no no elevators, so be prepared to lug luggage up stairs. The view from the room out to the bay was beautiful. But the rooms are not sound proofed and there is considerable outside noise at night from cars, motorcycles and blasting music on the sidewalk outside. Bring ear plugs if you stay in front rooms.

Lovely space. Across from bar. Lovely views. Very nice room. Great shower. Comfortable beds. Bidet! Very helpful staff. Small but 24hr useful gym. 24hr coffee and tea. Paddle board and bike rental easy and fun. Easy free parking. Will definitely start here again

The room was very basic considering the price we paid for a 3-star hotel. It didn’t feel like good value for money. The added service charge also felt unnecessary given the limited amenities provided. Overall cleanliness could have been better—the room did not feel as clean or well-maintained as expected.

Positives: the staff was great, the lobby, the game room, the pool area, and the laundry facilities were excellent. The parking and the location were also good. Negative: The rooms were not worth the price. We two rooms. The beds were comfortable, sheets clean, nice quality towels, working A/C (all good). However, we had cockroaches in one of our rooms which did not make us happy, especially that the rooms were expensive. Actually, we heard other people complaining of cockroaches to the front desk and insisted on moving rooms. I am not buying “it’s just like that in tropical places” either. . Perhaps in cheap hotels but this one was far from cheap. In addition, I have travelled extensively in Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America and never and I mean NEVER had cockroaches in my hotel room.

Room is newly renovated. Close to airport so will be noisy from 6:00 am. Checking out is very slow. Additional hotel amenities fee of $25 per day is a surprise fee when you check in.

Price point does not match room condition, available amenities or location. Cons-$25 extra per night. Coffee bar in lobby is one carafe with coffee. No coffee maker in room, no microwave in room. Bikes are rusty, hard to pedal, brakes don’t work. Location is not truly walkable or bike friendly. Busy street was unnerving to navigate through. Park across the street is busy on weekends. Loud cars and blasting music. Weekdays less busy but many homeless, several displaying mental illness. Flights overhead starting at 6am Rooms poorly remodeled. 3 levels, no elevator. Narrow staircase. Calendar of events not accurate. Pros- koi pond, staff is responsive, lei making was a unique experience

I booked a relaxation room and when I arrived, the very nice woman at the desk said “ oh, they have upgraded you to a poolside king.”. This is not an upgrade- certainly not relaxing with kids having a great time in the pool and the sounds carrying right into our room. The property has been nicely remodeled and overall, I would give it another chance, but would insist on the room I had booked. Had I been staying more than 1 night, I would have been “ that girl” and asked for a different room.

The room was clean and adequate. But be warned that it was bare bones meaning that it didn’t have the amenities that other hotels had for the same price. There was no bar soap ( just liquid soap on the wall), no notepad and pen, no microwave or coffee maker in the room. The bed was softer than we were used to and had a squeak when we moved. The air conditioner was annoying so we didn’t use it at night. We felt like we were in a basement because we had to keep the frosted glass shutters closed because people were walking in front of our room because it was an outside entry, as all the rooms were. The pool closed at 7 pm and there was no hot tub. Other than that it was okay.

Clean but very spartan for the money. Half of the hotel had nicer rooms. Ours was the size of a typical motel room. Very small bathroom, limited electric outlets. 3rd floor with no elevator. Extra $30/night resort fee for tea bags, coffee in lobby,and I think access to a very standard pool.

The room and hotel is exactly what it promises. No frills and quiet (except for the occasional plane flying by). If you are in Hawaii and in Hilo you are probably not staying in your hotel a lot. You will save money on their free coffee which is actually really good and strong. Staff is polite and friendly. There are plenty of places to eat in walking distance. The property is very beautiful and the koi pond is awesome when lit up at night.

The property is older and in desperate need of updates or a rebuild. Getting to our room was very inconvenient and luggage was difficult to haul up the stairs, no elevator. The room was sparse and so dated. The paint was peeling, the bathroom was tiny, and the bedding seemed outdated. The old fashioned swamp cooler made us ill and inflamed our allergies.
