I was disappointed with the condition of the room given the price point and brand expectations of this property. The room showed clear signs of deferred maintenance. Paint was peeling in multiple areas, the bottom of the doors were visibly deteriorating, and the trim throughout the room had mismatched paint. The exterior door curtain was torn, preventing the room from being properly darkened. These were not isolated cosmetic issues but multiple visible defects within a single room. Additionally, rusted ventilation grates were present in several public restrooms throughout the resort, which raised concerns about overall upkeep. While I understand that wear occurs over time, the cumulative condition did not align with what one would reasonably expect from a Hyatt resort. I also found the pricing practices concerning. A 10 percent discount was offered only to local residents, while all guests using a credit card were charged an additional 3 percent fee. Given that most travelers rely on credit cards, this effectively increases the cost without meaningful alternatives.

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and everything about this resort was amazing!!! The breakfast buffet was delicious, wide offering of food. The staff , especially Lisa in the restaurant was great, extremely friendly and attentive as well as the bartenders at the Shore , the room was spacious with an amazing view of the ocean and just a walk across the street for the beach. We also went to the onsite luau which was so much fun ! Looking forward to returning next year !

Room was clean and well maintained. The airline lost our luggage but the hotel gave us robes and toiletries to get by. The staff is fantastic also, well located on Waikiki beach. Would stay again.

The Hyatt at Waikiki was disappointing to say the least. If you are wanting the beach then this is not for you. Very little beach front is left. There is a busy road that separates the hotel from the beach as well. There is a strong presence of police as the police station is right across the street. There is an abundance of homeless individuals around the area. The police play the game of removing the homeless only for them to return. Even this morning we went to the beach and there was a homeless woman cleaning herself in the beach shower. The area is hyper busy (in the off season) and is "manufactured" Hawaii at a price. - Location The staff was not even ok. The front desk provided headaches at best. The experience with guest services could only be described as a gaslight experience. For example while there I overheard about military discounts, so I asked them and I was belittled just for asking. -Service The rooms needed renovation. Stuff was peeling off the walls and water damage above the shower. The hotel will also charged an additional $55 per day for cheap cups and a plastic bag with there advertising logo all over it. -Rooms I did enjoy my time in Hawaii except for the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach.

Very mixed experience. Firstly, this hotel is very loud. Constant and consistent noise. Because of proximity on Waikīkī beach. But you’re on Waikiki beach. We were there eleven days. Our room was missed being cleaned on the Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we mentioned it and the room finally was cleaned when we came back from supper at 8:30 ish in the evening. Sunday same thing. The cleaning person did come by at about 5:30 as we’re getting ready for dinner but I wasn’t willing to vacate as we had a dinner reservation to get ready for. She was very rude and said she’d be back in an hour. The bed was made when we came back but the soiled towels were still there. Was not a relaxing eleven days.
