Attempt of overcharge by hotel

I had booked this hotel since 5 mints ago and payment was completed when I did reservation. But hotel tried to charge me hotel fee when check in without any explanation. I noticed extremely high price on credit card payment device display and told concierge something is wrong. It took almost 10 minutes for concierge to check internally or with hotel.com. Why the payment already done in advance was not in the system of hotel? Concierge should have also double checked before asking customer to pass credit card. For Embassy Suites hotel level, I was pretty shocked.
