Beautiful grand hotel with magnificent high ceilings and long wide hallways. We have stayed a few times but this time the room we had was quite small but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Location is excellent, 2 minutes from Southern Cross station and pleasant 4 block walk to the heart of Melbourne City.

I loved the old world charm and the huge hallways. Though for some reason it nearly felt somewhat isolating in such a large building with no one to be seen. It made me conscious to look out for emergency escape points. Not a bad thing I suppose. We were given an upgrade as well, many thanks

Hotel was in a great position. We were booked to go to a show & didn't realise Grand Prix was the same week end so most of our normal hotels were minimum 3 night stay. The Grand wasn’t & walking distance to Crown. Many people on edge around Melbourne due to Corona Virus & thought maybe the hotel could have had taken a few steps such as hand sanitisers in & around reception & dining room. Overall a beautiful old Melbourne bullying which looks as tho it’s moving into a completely different culture,
