I had a lovely stay at Chateau Yering Hotel. A warm welcome from Annie at Reception, a spotless and lovely room, very friendly and helpful house-keeping staff, and Jennifer in the Sweetwater Cafe makes an excellent coffee. I think Eleonore's Restaurant is at present only open for dinner on Wednesday evenings but plenty of restaurants not far away in Lilydale, and Yarra Glen township is only about 5 minutes from Chateau Yering. For lunch there is the Yering Station restaurant right next door to Chateau Yering.
Highly recommended.
Absolutely beautiful room looking out to lovely gardens. Felt first class and a valued guest

Dirty bath, broken phone, tiny tv, wine glass in room cracked, most of the staff not very friendly. Place is looking tired including gardens. Requested our room to be serviced every day but that didnt happen. Very disappointed NOT a 5 star hotel! Don’t waste your money. Definitely will not go back or recommend to family and friends.
This is such a lovely and unique property. Our room overlooked a green pasture full of grazing cattle and morning kangaroos. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The winery next door was a nice bonus.

Disliked: Staff & service
What was included in room .. safe, slippers, dressing gown as advertised .. didn’t exist .. a 2022 dinner menu.. unanswered many phone calls..
Staff abrupt and non contactable ..
Negative staff, didn’t know how to use their computer system. Room didn’t have features that were advertised. Eg. Fireplace and pay tv. No offer to reduce price. Dangerous electrical wiring in room, had to turn off heater in case the cable caught fire during the night.
My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Chateau Yering Hotel which exceeded expectations. The room was large and beautiful with a huge double bath and views of the property. We sat in the Drawing Room in the afternoon and were offered Devonshire tea which was excellent. We then enjoyed a wine tasting at the nearby Yering Station (1 minute walk) and came back for happy hour drinks which were accompanied by historical tales of the place and amazing cocktails to match the era we spoke about by the open fire. Finally we finished the day with a delicious dinner at Eleanore’s Restaurant.
A step back into the 19th century but with all mod cons in the suites. Stunning. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.
