The air conditioner was not working properly, set on 27% and the morning sun hit the glass window and heated the room up. No control in room that I could adjust. First day a man came to re set, but went back to 37 I told the man at reception, who really was not interested. Otherwise good.

Beautiful building with mixed experience The building itself is beautiful and clearly has a lot of character, although much of its original 1930s splendour has been lost inside. Reception felt a bit cheap and did not match the historic charm of the property, although the receptionist was genuinely friendly and helpful. Our room was listed as Superior, however being located on the first floor, next to large yellow service bins in the corridor, completely destroyed the New Year’s charm and did not feel appropriate for a “Superior” category. That said, the room was very clean, the staff was friendly, and everything worked perfectly. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the bed — the mattress was uncomfortable, and the pillows were very poor, which affected the quality of our sleep. Overall, a building with great potential, but some details significantly impacted the experience.

Staff are most helpful. When noticed that I will be arrival in the late night for check-in the room. They provided a clear instruction to how I can access to the hotel property and collect my room key, really appreciated. One thing need to mention was their wi-fi, it is not working properly. Other than this, willing to stay again in the future. Thanks!

The breakfast idea and method is great but there was no fresh fruit - all tinned. The coffee was good. The website and folder in the room had the words fresh and gourmet to describe the breakfast. This raises expectations to expect fresh fruit and a more upmarket breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The apartment would be great for an extended stay in the city (Brisbane). Only stayed one night which probably would have been better spent in a hotel room rather than an apartment hotel.

This isn’t what I would describe as a luxury boutique hotel (maybe it was 30 years ago), but it’s comfortable and well placed for shopping, dining and buses. It’s a 10 -15 minute walk to the river to catch the ferry. Breakfast is better than expected (bacon, sausage, eggs cooked on request, beans etc) with gluten free bread available. They didn’t originally have any non-dairy margarine but they bought some so I could have it on the remaining days of my stay.

I was really challenged by this hotel. I was told that the parking was "just across the street" but it was a couple of blocks away and with all that we had to carry for an awards ceremony that made a big difference. I was also told that there was "ten minute parking right out front" where we could check in and then head to the parking we located on our own. Unfortunately after circling the block four times there was no parking to be found other than traditional street parking which was naturally full. We decided to stay elsewhere in the city as this hotel was inaccessible for our needs.
