Very nice hotel
We had a really nice stay at this hotel. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the train station but then there was a train strike so we had to drive - if you want to park would recommend pre-booking as it's much cheaper. We paid £15 extra to upgrade to a Junior Suite and it was nice to have the extra space. We were happy with the breakfast choices. Things we weren't so keen on were the bar, which is dark and not very welcoming (The Garden Room on the other hand is light, bright and very comfortable), and the overall temperature, which was a little hot. Our room didn't have aircon and we were very hot one night, and the room where they served breakfast was also too hot, however I realise it's sometimes a personal preference thing - somebody else may have found it just right. I would just like to give a shout-out to Sarah-Jane on the housekeeping team, who was very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful Hotel
Sadly only stayed for one night but will be back for sure- unlike many of the old railway hotels, Principal York is still as glamourous and stunning as ever. Great room, great service, a cosy bar and superb location.

My wife and I had a really nice two night stay. The hotel is fabulous. The superior king size room spot on. We decided to have breakfast in the hotel and was not disappointed. All the staff are incredibly helpful and polite. All in all, couldn’t fault it. Will definitely stay again the next time we visit York. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
