We stayed for a couple of nights. Ideal location to access city centre on foot. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Only thing preventing five stars was a tiny en suite. The room itself was nice, quiet and the bed comfortable.

A true gem of a hotel in York. Easily walkable to centre. Hotel and rooms spotlessly clean. Tasty, hot breakfast with plenty choice. Comfortable rooms but a little too hot. Good parking area at rear of hotel. Staff very pleasant and could not be more helpful. Special shout out to Gemma and Stuart who were both excellent. Would definitely stay here again. 5 stars all round.

The room was really spacious and had everything we needed including a very large walk in shower. Parking was very secure, although on this occasion we did need to pay £10 per night. The staff were super friendly as always and their breakfasts excellent choices and presentation. Definitely recommend this hotel and its proximity to the Minster and all the shops and restaurants superb.

Lovely break

Stayed for two nights and staff changed my room before arrival when they heard I’d had hip replacement.Parking was in a gated area and was very secure. Breakfast was excellent as was the service- everything was done with a smile. Great location for walking into City as it was very close to York Minster.

Secure cheap parking, breakfast was lovely as were the waiting staff. Room was clean tidy and spacious. Receptionist's we spoke to 3 different ones and all were friendly and welcoming In an ideal spot very close to the Cathedral and the shambles. Would definitely return.

Great location for our visit to York. So convenient for travel with the train nearby and a short walk into the historic area. Morning breakfast was average fair served by attentive, kind staff. It was a great way to start the day. Staff was consistently polite and welcoming each and every time we left and arrived (we stayed for six days). Our room was unfortunately right above the carriage entrance of this older property, so noise was an issue from late night revelers but also other guests who passed by at all hours talking and laughing loudly. That may have just been for our room, but it was an issue.
