The breakfast was poor, first morning no porridge which is inexcusable as its a dry product with good bbdate, the staff service was very good vut they never smiled or showed warmth.the English breakfast was very poor, bacon tough eggs hard and sausage hard and overdone. Room was very clean, but not given introduction to facilities hence never found safe or fridge until we were leaving. And they would have been very useful for our stay.Had a dog barking in the next bedroom during the night, which is not good. Was not asked once how we were or if we enjoyed our stay,as if it was unnecessary. Staff in peaches bar very helpful. Reception 50/50 sometimes very helpful other times not at all.pity.very hectic with all the road repairs around the hotel, not made aware of.The breakfast was certainly not worth the money.

Check in staff were lovely. Room door didn't open or close easily, room smelt damp & stains on chair, carpets & cushions, could feel springs in bed, not enough pillows & no extra in room. Average room for superior price ....disappointing based on previous stay. Housekeeping let themselves in whilst I was having breakfast despite do not disturb sign on door & pre check out time & lights etc stopped working. Reported to reception but not much response. Such a shame ...I loved this place last stay

Room was so hot when we walked in. We couldn’t stop sweating as the AC was so slow to work. Latch on door falling off. Marks on the walls and skirting boards everywhere. Toilet positioned so you cannot fit comfortably. Staff have been great but considering the recent renovation we expected better. It’s been a let down really. WiFi was terrible in the room

The room was clean although there were parts of the room that looked like they needed extra care there was some mold along the shower door the toilet paper was very thin compared to downstairs in the lobby area our room was smaller than the pictures we was woken up to dogs early hours of the morning for over an hour straight we was aware of the dog friendly hotel but it isnt what you want on your time away from the stressful work life the food we tried there was nice

We couldn’t fault our stay. Such an amazing well-run hotel. I’ve been staying at the Milner for 45 years and I have never been disappointed. Great rooms, clean, well maintained, lovely food and friendly/professional staff. I’ll be there again soon.

Our initial room had a wet carpet near the radiator. It was a large wet area which you cpuldnt avoid reallt feom one side of the bed if gping to the bathroom. The bathroom was seemingly not that clean so i dont know of this room was rushed or just one of the older rooms but it wasnt what weve come to expect of the principal now milner York on our 3rd stay. They moved us no issue to another room which was clean and dry and the usual service was resumed that weve come to enjoy. We did say we'd be happy to pay more for an upgrade but apparently due to being busy there weas no availability at the time. On the whole we love this hotel just this stay was a slight hiccup. Would reccomend staying here, perfect location to walk into town and on site Thors Teepee is a great place for a drink with a cosy open fire to sit by.

Breakfast was really fresh. The only thing I would have preferred is coffee made fresh for me rather than from a jug... It was ok but not the best coffee. The room was beautiful and staff were great. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again. Also really enjoyed the pool

Everything about this hotel was good. The distance from the train station, it is literally next door but the walk into town is only a few mins away also. The hotel itself is beautiful and elegant and the decor is lovely. Our room was very nice and the bed was really comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

I booked the room in July 25 and paid nearly £250 with no breakfast as meeting family from abroad. We were initially given a very very small cold room which I asked if we could move and they offered room 111 as nothing else available.Although warmer it was still very small for two adults and we had very little sleep as so small. Its a single room really. The hotel ground floor is lovely but our room was not satisfactory. We won’t stay again. Very poor value for money and I don’t understand why when we booked in July why we got such a poor room in December when not a last minute booking.
