Everything about this hotel was good. The distance from the train station, it is literally next door but the walk into town is only a few mins away also. The hotel itself is beautiful and elegant and the decor is lovely. Our room was very nice and the bed was really comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

I booked the room in July 25 and paid nearly £250 with no breakfast as meeting family from abroad. We were initially given a very very small cold room which I asked if we could move and they offered room 111 as nothing else available.Although warmer it was still very small for two adults and we had very little sleep as so small.Its a single room really. The hotel ground floor is lovely but our room was not satisfactory. We won’t stay again. Very poor value for money and I don’t understand why when we booked in July why we got such a poor room in December when not a last minute booking.

Lovely spacious hotel, beautiful public areas. Staff were friendly and welcoming and efficient. The Christmas tree was beautiful! Bathroom great - wonderful shower. Bedroom fine, but a bit dingy and thick layer of dust on light fittings. Lifts were the down side - really not clean and sometimes smelly.

Received a warm welcome at reception ahead of the 3pm permitted check in time and was given a room upgrade. The hotel Was beautifully decorated for Christmas with lovely seating areas and all very warm and cosy throughout. The breakfasts were lovely offering a Choice of cereal, fruits as well as cooked foods. Filter coffee was a disappointment from a flask.

Loved the hotel and location. Bedroom was too hot and heating control didn’t work but hay was rectified instantly by maintenance. Great pool for pre-breakfast swim too! Would love to come back

Only negative is accessibility, steps at main entrance and no indication of an accessible way in. Small flight up to room with no handrail. Travelled with 88yr old and just little things but make huge difference.
