"upmarket Hunter Valley Hotel"
The staff are friendly professional and good looking , immaculately turned out at all times, and friendly, I love friendly staff who will have a bit of a laugh with me. Life was never meant to be serious. We originally booked a king room but wanted to upgrade to a 1 bed room self catering, it was done in an instant our bags and clothes we had unpacked were transferred over in exactly the same position we had them in the first room. we have stayed here 4 times so far now and will always seek to use the hotel on future visits if rooms are available. The only thing I noticed that could be improved on was things like the dead bugs in the light in the bathroom. The bar staff are friendly and accommodating, we were late for breakfast one morning turning up just as breakfast was being cleared they let us go through anyways, and my favourite gripe about breakfasts in hotels is they are usually cold with worst coffee ever. Hotel Elan managed to serve a warm buffet breakfast and the coffee was amazingly good. Thankyou

"Rural retreat in city comfort"
Booked online for the bed sizes needed and was pleasantly surprised that the apartment was so well appointed with great bathrooms and beautiful living areas. Loved the view into the bush, decks to relax on and plenty of fresh air in the apartment. We saw kangaroos and enjoyed the well groomed gardens. Plenty of scope for entertaining others for meals or drinks. Gas fireplace was a bonus as it was cold overnight. Appreciated the clean space, family friendly laundry and kitchen. We will return again as we thought it the ideal retreat.

"Affordable, modern but dirty toilet upon arrival"
Impressive, comfortable 2 bedroom flat apartment with adequately equipped kitchen and nice amenities like fireplace, remote controlled garage for 1 car. Only disappointment was the dirty toilet seat which had urine stains from the previous Patrons.

Wine lovers will enjoy every moment in Rothbury, and the Hunter Valley region that surrounds it. It’s prime wine-growing and national park country, not to mention it’s a cool place for a scenic drive or vineyard tour. Nearby towns like Pokolbin and Branxton provide shopping and dining. For a night (or several) in beautiful Rothbury, book your Rothbury hotel with us.

Rothbury, just one hour from Newcastle, is famous for the Rothbury Riots, during which police shot and killed a miner in 1929 during a demonstration over work conditions. The Rothbury Riots Monument on the Great North Walk honors the memory of this tragic event.

The Hunter Valley in New South Wales is Australia’s most visited wine region – and for good reason! With more than 150 wineries and vineyards, you can get your fix of Shiraz or Sauvignon Blanc. Take a tour of the wineries (while someone else drives so you can indulge yourself), then get involved with some of the Hunter’s other activities: spend some time in an art gallery, do some shopping or have dinner at a local restaurant. If there’s one thing the Hunter does as well as wine, it’s food. The list of classy local restaurants with delicious food is a long one, and many of them have vineyard or countryside views.

If you crave a scenic escape, you’ll love Rothbury’s hotels, including a range of cottages and cabins among the farms and fields. If you’re keen to do some shopping and maybe pick up some delightful cheese, drop into Pokolbin, which has a number of shops specialising in boutique dairy. Don’t forget about all the national parks in the Hunter Valley area, like Werakata National Park in Lovedale, which has cycling and walking tracks where you can spot wildflowers and native birds.

To stay in the Hunter Valley but keep more money for wine, book your Rothbury accommodation with us. While you’re at it, pick out some cheap Newcastle flights to get you to the Hunter region for less. Cheers!
