Very tired, in need of refurbishment. Cleaning needs greater attention as everything felt sticky and dirty. Lots of scratches on furniture and marks on walls.

Our stay was pleasant. All staff were super friendly and and absolute pleasure to deal with. Great location and good resort layout. Grounds and gardens were very nice and well maintained. We had a few room maintenance issues. Complete toilet seat fell off with first use. Shower has a 'technique' to stop the water running which took us 2 days to work out. Fridge compressor was very noisy and high pitched which kept us awake. We had to draw straws for the sofa bed - as expected with additional bedding and sofa beds in any hotel - not good. Room main bed good and comfortable. Room had everything you need. Kettle, hairdryer, iron and board. Plus bug spray. Wish I had found that earlier on in our stay. (there are always lots of bugs in the Hunter).

Great value and nice room/property/restaurant. No wheelchair access to reception. The "accessible" room had great space but has a commode chair for the shower and toilet (rather than a fold down bench seat in the shower). Feels like a nursing home if you don't need a commode for the toilet but you're still needing the commode chair for the shower, and you know other guests used it for the loo as well. It was spotlessly clean, just undignified if you don't need a commode for the toilet (there are rails around the loo). Maybe offer a portable shower stool as well as the commode? Hard to please everyone I know! It'd also be a revolution for any property - to be fair, not just this one - to offer a more premium room with accessibility features, or at least a standard view. We didn't choose the "cheap room" by choice, we needed the access! Level parking adjacent the room would also make a difference and for some guests, essential. A walk-in shower cubicle only, some may need more circulation space if you can't transfer to the commode. Overall, still great value and a clean, nice room, good staff.

The wheelchair friendly room does has it pros and cons; possibly next time you stay choose our Vineyard View room, we highly recommend calling the hotel direct to book a walk in shower option (only 2 available) plus picturesque vineyard/mountain views with car parking at your front door and easily accessible by wheel chair to the restaurant facilities. Staff at desk were lovely and very helpful. Getting food and drinks required a walk up to the bar. (Another building 5min walk). That was expensive not that helpful, and food availability was entirely dependent of whether the kitchen was doing a function (their main business I think)
